A wonderful place with wonderful people. It’s even better than you think it will be. Everything and everyone is so nice. The atmosphere is calming and pretty. Nice rooms to sleep in. You get meals and fun stuff to do here if you want to join. It’s been such a big help being so close to the hospital.

The people there are amazing! They show genuine concern about you and your child/ family. They are very attentive to your needs. It's an awesome place to stay while your child is in the hospital. With 3 children and 9 grandchildren I never thought we'd need them. So grateful for them. Learned a lot of how they work. Thank you guys!

My family and I were able to stay here for 3 weeks or so while our newborn recovered from surgery at Duke University Medical Center. The staff was enjoyable and encouraging. The volunteers made served with love-we had dinner available every night. Security structure was not too bad and well controlled - we felt safe there. The house is located across the street from the police station. One of my children had a birthday and the staff made them feel special. Shuttle buses were available to take us to and from hospital visits on a pretty regular schedule during the week - saves a lot of money from parking at the hospital ($16-$18) per day. 2 Harris Teeter stores near by, Food Lion near by, and Enzo Pizza near by (was the jam). It all worked well together as my family and all the other families that were our neighbors went through this trial of life.

Our baby had the unfortunate timing of delivering seven weeks early while we were on a family vacation. While she is very healthy, she is still in the NICU and will be for a while. Since we are 13 hours away from home, we didn’t really have a great place to stay. The hospital set us up with the Ronald McDonald house and we are eternally grateful. This has been the most pleasant and comforting experience. The staff is amazing, the rooms are spectacular, and what is provided to families is above and beyond anything you could think of in a time of emergency. Since we are from out of town, it is great having a place we can call home and know everything we need is there. We were packed for a seven day trip, so we did not have everything we needed. They were able to provide anything we needed or steered us in the right direction. If you ever need a organization to donate to, this would be a worthy contender.

So blessed that me and my family was able to stay here with my wife and family after our medical care got transfer to Duke. First day we arrived at the RMH we were received with such a warm smile and welcome. They gave us a tour and walked us to our and told us if we needed anything all we had to do was ask. The facility was so clean, organized an so well maintained it surprised me on how a place that runs on charity was so well maintained comapared to a regular hotel you pay. Anyways there was a big kitchen with lots of food, a big dinning room, laundry room and lots of other things. Our room had a kitchen, tv, 2 queen beds, futon, washer and dryer. The RMH also provies a shuttle bus wich is excelent because paying for parking adds up alot quicker than you think and also great if you do not have transportation. The House kithcen is full of food for everyone living at the RMH and everyother day they have a group of people cooking for the entire house. Me and my wife are really thankful that we had the chance to stay here and for as long as we had to. Thanks RMH at Durham for everything!
