Graves of F. Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald

So peaceful and pretty. We parked in the church parking lot and it’s a very onlooking church! Always nice to pay a bit of homage to F Scott and Zelda when in the neighborhood.

One of America's great literatures, author of the Great Gatsby. F. Scott Fitzgerald lies here in this beautiful setting just outside of D.C. in Maryland.

One would never imagine F. Scott Fitzgerald's grave being in the middle of Maryland and maybe that's why it's not often talked about or why it's a relatively traditional grave site. If you are a fan of his or have an interest in American Literature, its definitely worth visiting. It's not every day you get to see such a casual grave site of someone so well known. Definitely read the other reviews for where to park and how to get in because its not well marked. Fortunately, the cemetery is very small that its not difficult to find but there is only one entrance into the cemetery and its not by the parking lot. But still even without knowing all that, its not going to be an all day affair to see this.

I watched the movie 《the great Gatsby》and also read the novel but I never thought that Frances Scott Key Fitzgerald rested in Rockville Maryland. I used to live about 8 miles away from St. Mary’s church. It is a small and quiet graveyard. Looks like the whole Fitzgerald family rested there.

If you have respect for the works of F. Scott Fitzgerald or are fascinated with the lives of Scott and Zelda, a visit to their grave is well worth it.
