I lived alone for many years, and while I loved my home, keeping up with everything—from the little repairs to the yardwork—grew harder with each passing year. I wasn’t emotionally ready to admit that it might be time for a change. A close friend told me about Independence Hall and reassured me that it felt just like living in a real apartment, not a facility. Still, I arrived for my tour convinced I wouldn’t want to move.
But the moment I walked through the doors, everything changed. The staff greeted me with such warmth that I felt instantly at ease. There was laughter, kindness, and a sense that the people here truly love what they do. Then I saw the apartments—spacious, comfortable, and far more beautiful than I expected.
What surprised me most were the little things that make a big difference: housekeeping taken care of, delicious meals prepared for me, and the ability to see friends anytime without the isolation I felt at home. I discovered that independence isn’t about doing everything alone—it’s about having the freedom to enjoy life without all the burdens.
Looking back, I wish I had toured earlier. I’m more active now than I’ve been in years, and I feel safer, supported, and part of a community that genuinely cares. Independence Hall hasn’t just given me a new place to live—it’s given me a better way to live.

We are so grateful for Williamsburg Landing. Rob and Fedora have been outstanding, and the head nurse is amazing. I live out of state, and it gives me peace of mind knowing we’ve found a place that truly advocates for our loved one. Staff will even call just to check in.
Our journey started when our loved one was in skilled nursing. The team at Williamsburg Landing helped us navigate that difficult stage and connected us with people in the community who could support us along the way. They made the transition into Williamsburg Landing smooth and reassuring.
The biggest takeaway is the culture. Our loved one went from sitting alone watching TV to being part of a real community. The people here are genuine, and it shows.
The physical therapy team and the gym at Independence Hall are excellent. There’s music, activity, and a real sense of energy that motivates everyone.
If you’re new to this process, I highly recommend taking a tour. Once you see the facility, meet the residents, and work with the staff, you’ll understand the difference. For us, moving our loved one here has been life-changing, it took something that was consuming my entire life and gave me the space to live more fully, while knowing our loved one is in good hands.

We recently visited our longtime client and dear friend who is now residing at Independence Hall and we were so impressed. The building is beautiful, spotless, and has such a fresh, welcoming scent the moment you walk in. The staff is friendly, creating an inviting and comfortable atmosphere. The location is fantastic, close to so many wonderful dining options. We also had the pleasure of meeting Sonja, who manages the facility. She is both professional and warm, and it is clear she takes great pride in ensuring residents feel cared for and at home.

I am now in the process of moving in to take advantage of needed LTC Assistance in daily living. After carefully considering several Lauderdale locations, IH and its staff and features - including gym, Medicare eligible PT and therapy staff, most reasonable rates for spacious updated apartments, very flexible and interesting menus at all meals, and across the board caring and helpful staff during my first month, convince me of the good decision I’ve made.

I recently took a tour with Rob in sales and he was very detailed and informative about options for my parents. As we toured the community, he introduced me to the staff and everyone was very welcoming and friendly. I could see the other residents getting along with the staff and having a good time. The community was very clean and smelled good. This was the fifth community that I toured and I feel I found the right community that I would feel comfortable having my parents move into. I’m apart of the LGBT community and I really love that they are forward thinking and inclusive which makes me feel safe and comfortable having my parents in a caring and loving community.
