Habitat for Humanity of Washington, D.C. & Northern Virginia

Nice place if you know what you're looking for.

Wanted to donate a full kitchen worth of cabinets and almost-new carpet to Habitat so that it could go to a new home as we were doing a home renovation. We arranged for pickup of all the donations by submitting an application and even called back over the phone to confirm that they would accept the carpet. However, the pickup crew was rude, said it was not worth their while to take any of the furniture despite their truck being there and it being in fine shape, and said that they do not accept carpet. We had brought everything out to the curb and ended up having to scramble to get a trash company to come get it. The whiplash between the application and phone call where I was assured our donations would be accepted and the unpleasantness and abruptness of the crew was jarring. This was not an issue of the quality of the materials and it was sad to have our efforts to see it all go to a new home be rejected. Despite caring deeply for Habitat's mission, I will not be working with them or attempting to donate with them again!

These guy work hard, for a good cause to make family's feel comfortable in thier new homes to come home too...

Wonderful organization that supports the housing needs of those less fortunate in Washington DC. I am grateful for my Company's business relationship with Habitat.
