Breece Monuments

Needed to have a date added to a monument. Final work was fine but when we went into office to speak with them it was very cut and dry. I'm not sure what's going on. Have used them in years past and they were very helpful and pleasant. This particular lady had no personality and showed no concern or care that we had just lost a loved one. Had planned on purchasing a footstone but was so taken aback with her attitude, we decided to check out other businesses. Found a place in Clinton where they were more concerned with our situation and the prices were absolutely lower than Fayetteville, if that is a concern.

I contracted with Breece Monuments in early December of 2023 clean the two modest 12" x 22" white marble bevel headstones on my parent's graves. The stones are about as simple as it gets. Breece Monuments told me they could not do the work until spring because a late freeze could "crack the stones" and said they were "backed up with work" and could not complete the project for six months. It took Breece until October 3, 2024 to complete the work. That's 10 months to clean two small blocks of marble. I made regular periodic phone calls during this time asking for updates on the project. I was always told "it's in the stack." Messages left for the apparent only person able to update or answer questions were either unpassed or my calls were usually not returned. Last week I was finally notified the work was finished. This week I made the nearly six-hour round trip down to Breece Monuments to check on the competed work. What were once two lovely, smooth and beautifully marbled stones now look more like used ice cream salt. The two stones have essentially been destroyed. There is atrocious abrasive pitting that makes it difficult to read some of the lettering. I fear they used either a sand blaster or a high pressure washer on the stones rather than proper cleaners, water, and soft brushes. I believe they took the quick way out to make an easy $800 off a customer they obviously thought due to distance and age would never come see the finished results. That's $800 to lift two existing small markers off their base, remove the base, clean and reset the markers back on the ground without having to reset the base. Probably a :30 minute job, an hour tops. $800 bucks. I could not have been any more disappointed with the quality of the service we received nor their flippant attitude toward customer satisfaction. Mr. Oscar and Bobby were from the very outset all about quality and service. They both would be turning over in their own graves if they could see what has happened to their Breece Monuments division over these last years. Customer satisfaction ceases at Breece Monuments after they have your money - payable in advance, of course. Buyer beware here, buyer look elsewhere.

Fayetteville Monument Works did not meet our satisfaction at all. We are unsatisfied with the work they did. The work was tacky. In addition to this, after they were paid for their work, they did not take our comments into consideration. They gave us problems and excuses multiple times. They will never get any more of my business. If you are considering Fayetteville Monument Works, do not do it! I highly recommend that you do not utilize their services! They don’t even deserve the one star!

Promises have been made to install my dad's headstone since September 7th. There is always an excuse as to why they don't show up. Friday, October 12, 2018 was the last date put in an email that installation would take place. NO SHOW! A phone conversation ensured installation for today October 15, 2018 at 10 am. We waiting and waited and again, no show. Was told over the phone that it couldn't be done today because some things came up over the weekend. Mind you, we have been scheduled several times and shoved aside for things that "just came up." Might I also add that everything was paid in full up front and we keep getting put off. Never will I use this company again nor will I recommend them to anyone!
