Cynthia is a wonderful grief counselor. I have lost my mom, my dad all in seven months, and after 5 years of caregiving my mom. My husband has had 4 cancers starting in 2015, still fighting two. She has helped me deal with and understand my deep seated emotions and frustrations. I can tell you, I feel more at peace with things. I feel, I’m able to move forward with better life skills that she has helped me with. I highly recommend Cynthia.

I decided to try grief counseling because I realized my past experiences, sometimes traumatic, were negatively impacting my quality of life and personal relationships. I've had therapy off and on to deal with things in the moment, but it was just enabling me to survive. I wanted to thrive. I felt that I was in a stable place to go digging, maybe look through my past with new eyes. I started this journey with Yvette Gwin as my counselor. I quickly realized that she was incredibly intuitive, compassionate and empathetic. Using the grief workbook, combined with her skill, she has helped me to see all of the pieces, the seemingly insignificant moments, that actually had a huge impact right from an early age. Yvette goes well beyond discovery and acknowledgement. Using the workbook and it's well established grief techniques, she enables you to move forward with your new knowledge, helping you to heal, step by step. It literally feels like you are taking back your story, taking back the narrative, putting the power back in your hands instead of letting your fear take the wheel. Yvette never pushes you beyond what you're ready to deal with, letting you heal layer by layer. This is different though, in that you actually have to do the work. She's a wonderful guide and partner but it has to be a journey you're fully committed to making and ready to take accountability. The changes I've been able to make with Yvette's help, armed with my new awareness, have been really encouraging. I've been able to develop skills that help me cope with some of the emotional disregulation and fear that has plagued me my whole life. So many deep wounds are being healed through this work, and while it isn't easy, this is one of the healthiest decisions I've made. It's so worth it to invest in yourself! It will not only enrich your life but it will benefit the lives of those around you.

When my mom died I was in a pretty dark place emotionally. She was one of the people closest to me and an ongoing source of encouragement. Cyndi helped me to cope with the grief of losing my mom and so many other difficult situations that had affected me throughout my life. Her kindness and empathy shine through in your sessions. It shows that she wants to help you get better from her warm demeanor and personable approach. It's clear she believes in the power of this modality from her own experience as she helps you to navigate your own pathway through the past trauma that you've experienced. I'd highly recommend her as a support and her services as a aide to recovery.
