Alabama Hospice Care of Birmingham

I want to thank both the in-home support staff and the administrative staff for their professional attitudes in caring for my mother. I received very good communication about all aspects of my mom's care, and the care itself was compassionate and experienced. I feel fortunate to have found this company. My mom's care and eventual passing was made significantly better due to the quality of this company. I recommend them very highly.

Have been with this company for over a year for my dad. Every few months they kept changing nurses and CNAs. They start off the first weeks good but then as time goes by they get very lazy and half do their jobs. Multiple complaints to the company. I have given several opportunities for correction to situations. They continue coming in with attitude and not providing proper care. I am sure all Company’s have their issues but this one just doesn’t seem to care about their patients. Patient overload to staff. They can’t keep staff. Wish I could give negative stars. Please choose a different company than Alabama Hospice if you want your loved ones taken care of the way they deserve in their final days.

The folks at Alabama Hospice Care of Birmingham were kind, sympathetic, caring and highly professional. I wish to commend each and every one of them for the great service they all provided me and my family. Time after time they gave tirelessly when called upon. I could not have been able to cope with my wife's dementia had they not been there. They have even reached out since her passing July 1 with grief counseling. If you are in need of Hospice services, my family and I highly recommend them. Respect.

Every nurse that participated in the care of my father was very professional, compassionate and caring. Even though I knew they had other patients to see, they treated him as if he were their only patient. The CNA also did a great job along with the social worker and chaplain, as well. It was a pleasure to get to know this team of caring nurses. A prior experience with another hospice company, we had a different nurse every week. But with Alabama Hospice we had the same nurse every week. We lost my father in July but just knowing that he had the best care, made it easier on him and the family. We are so thankful for the entire team. I would highly recommend this organization to anyone in need of excellent hospice care.

Company was recommended because they are contracted through the VA, but the representative they had for their agency when it came to my dad was terrible. There was no communication between them and the nursing home nor myself. The nurse called me once demanding a Medicare number and when i informed them he was on medicaid, she got an attitude cut me off, said she'd find some information out and call me back. Never heard from her again. 2 weeks later my dad still hasn't started hospice and we are now going through another agency. Would not recommend at all.
