Care Counseling deleted my previous review, so I'll say it again. DO NOT waste your time money or mental energy on this place. Take one look at the reviews and you will see- there is a boat load of one star reviews and it is for good reason. You will leave with more distress than you came with and they will reply to your reviews with A.I. generated responses or get google to delete them. If I could give this place negative stars I would.

I want to start this review by stating that my two star out of five had nothing to do with the actual therapist. I was working with Maddie was one of the best therapist that I’ve ever had. When I first started with care, counseling associates, I was contacted by their billing department to tell me that I did not have any co-pay based on my insurance Information. The gentleman went on to say don’t even worry about putting your debit card in because we will not need to access this. The next time I saw Maddie, I asked her to verify this through the billing department as it seemed fishy to me that I would not have a copayment.. The billing department also confirmed with my therapist that I did not have a copayment. Therefore, I signed up for two times a week Therapy specifically EMDR in my time of doing this type of form of Therapy with Maddie. It to be the best and most successful therapy I have experienced. Fast-forward a couple of weeks with twice a week Therapy I Was told I had a back due payment of $125 and would have continued co-pays of $25 every session and I needed to put my debit card into the portal. I reminded them I was told three times I did not have a co-pay and I did not agreeI did . They sent me an email telling me that I needed to pay the $125 Told them not to as I was not authorizing that to be removed from my account . They canceled my therapy services even though this was their fault. And have gone ahead and removed the $125 out of my bank account without my authorization. Again, I am speaking specifically to the billing department. They clearly do not know what they are doing and they are screwing people Their money and more importantly, good therapy

No Show. I had an appointment Monday at 6. Confirmed by them with an email. First time with Bruce and “Care” Counseling. There won’t be a second.

This EMDR counseling group should be approached with caution. I have had tremendous results, although I went through 3 therapists over 2 years to get there. The first one, arguably the most important one, was horrible and I quit after becoming destabilized. The last two were acceptable although the experience with them was strange due to a real lack of experience. Even after asking specifically for someone with experience when I got to #3. This therapy is very difficult and potentially dangerous. The therapists there do not respect that in my experience. They are very cavalier about the technique and, frankly, once i got the drill I needed to take charge of when how and at what pace the BLS would be used. That was ridiculous. The supervisor staff are heartless people. I was abruptly taken off my therapist after many months with no warning, with a lousy made up reason that was totally inconsiderate of me. No apologies, no discussion or processing from my therapist, just horrible. Needless to say, I'm done. It took me a month or so after leaving to realize just how bad it was. I was processing the additional trauma after being treated for my childhood trauma. Absolutely unethical.

Unfortunately it seems as though money is the most important thing to them. Addressing client questions and concerns don’t seem to matter. They were charging me a copay for every visit even though my insurance said I didn’t have one. Once they started receiving payments from the insurance company (100% of it) they didn’t reimburse me for the amount I paid. Since that time I’ve left voicemails with no reply. Sent messages through the portal only to have one person say they would look into it but never followed through. It has been 10 months since they’ve owed me money. I wasn’t impressed the staff either. My son and I each went there, the councilor I had was excellent but she left the practice. The one my son saw was not helpful. She didn’t listen to our concerns and what the issues we wanted addressed. The woman at the front desk, when someone was there, just ignored what I told her about my insurance and would charge my card for the co-pays before I even got there.
