Horrible experience all the way around. Every member of my family that checked organ donor on the license have decided to remove it. Unprofessional and uncaring.

In June 2006, me and my husband had the unfortunate time of meeting with somebody from at the time Sharing Hope was under a different name Life point. We had a conversation with a young lady about our son being a organ donor. Our son was only 12 at the time but he had talked to me and his dad about being a organ donor. She was a real professional and explained to us how we could donate our son's organs. Long story short our son helped five out of the six people with his organs. This is a very good organization. We've made a lot of friends through this organization.

These people are vultures looking for carrion. I met three women who work for this organization at Prisma Health Richland hospital on January 6 and 7. My fiancé was in his last hours on life support when two of them came in on Friday the 6th. They identified themselves as “patient family comfort” and never mentioned anything about being an organ procurement agency in our first meeting. My fiancé tragically lost his life waiting for a liver transplant, and he had hoped to be a donor himself one day. These 2 women left and came back after finding out that we had inquired about donating his organs. They then started talking to us about being able to take his kidneys and the process that would entail. They used the worst, tired counseling catch phrases as they tried to get us to commit to letting them take my fiancé before we were ready. Even though they were telling us they weren’t rushing us and it was on our time, they were absolutely pressuring and manipulating us. The following day, we were told by doctors that his kidneys had taken a turn for the worse and were not viable for transplant. A few moments later, a third woman with this organization came in waving to us with literal jazz hands and started telling us that the doctors were wrong. They could flush his kidneys and use them. But we needed to hurry with our very difficult decision because she was busy that day and had other places to be. Then she said “I feel a weird energy in here. Someone is giving energy. I’m an empath and I can feel it in my knees.” My family and I just sat there in disbelief. She continued, “no I’m serious. Someone needs love in this room.” We finally got her out, but she hovered outside my fiancé’s room like a literal vulture. She and I had words because I was so upset with her. Your organization has undoubtedly done good things for people, but you need to vet your employees. Those three women at Prisma Richland have marked the experience of me sitting vigil with the man I love as he finished his race. They have marked it in a terrible way, and when I think back on the worst days of my life, those women will be part of what I remember. Shame on them and shame on your organization for making something beautiful like organ donation a living nightmare for a grieving family.

I learned how important they are when my wife passed away recently. They are very caring during every step of the process. I am now a donor due to the work they do
