Great cause and organization. Please 'round up' your change when purchasing at McDonalds and any other retailer that donates to the Ronald McDonald Charities. It makes a difference!

Ronald McDonald House in Charleston is an incredible place doing truly meaningful work for families when they need it most. One of the things that stands out immediately is how easy they make it to volunteer—especially as a family. From the moment you sign up, the process is welcoming, organized, and thoughtfully supported. We’ve had the opportunity to cook meals for the residents a couple of times, and each experience has been deeply rewarding. The staff and volunteer team are fantastic—kind, appreciative, and genuinely supportive every step of the way. They make you feel like your time and effort truly matter. What really resonated with us is how grateful they are for help outside of the Christmas and holiday season. While the holidays bring a lot of attention, Ronald McDonald House still needs volunteers year-round, and you can feel how much it means to them when families show up during those quieter times. This organization is compassionate, well-run, and filled with people who clearly care deeply about the families they serve. Volunteering here doesn’t just help others—it leaves you feeling uplifted and thankful you were able to be a small part of something so important. Highly, highly recommended. ❤️

This is my first time staying with a RMH. They provided me with a room with a bathroom and though both are small, there's a ceiling fan, lights, a TV, and again, my own bathroom! I received a wonderful gift bag the day after check in and there's a few computers and even a pinball machine (free to use) upstairs, a wonderful playground for children and they provide breakfasts and dinners. The staff was very friendly and answered any questions I had and Gardy is so sweet and a nice extra to the house! My only complaint is the lack of parking, the city should have accommodated this, but I read in another response to a review they are working on building a new place and I hope they are allowed a parking lot for their guests! Thank you for getting me in on a days notice to stay close to my son during his treatment!
