As a granddaughter, the greatest gift is peace of mind - and that’s exactly what Lainee at The Bristal has given our family. Lainee Steinberg has been a lifeline for my family. Her kindness, knowledge, thoughtfulness, and optimism have helped us immensely throughout this journey. My mom loves Bridge and Lainee assured her that bridge would be part of her life at Bristal and it has since the day she moved in. My mom is so happy at Bristal and I know that having Lainee there, always smiling, caring and accessible has made all the difference in my mother‘s adjustment and happiness. I also want to say that Lainee helped my mom make the transition when she said just come with a suitcase and you can stay as long as you want! My mom is living at The Bristal since April 2025!

The people here at The Bristal York are truly something special. I enjoy three wonderful meals each day, but what stands out most to me are the people, both residents and staff. They are amazing. In fact, when someone is not around, I genuinely notice their absence. That is how meaningful the connections are here. I feel comfortable, welcomed, and at home. I appreciate the privacy I have, along with the warmth of community all around me. The programming is excellent and allows me to express my creativity, which before living here I didn't express that side so much. I feel the concerts and lectures are especially stimulating and enriching. I have to say, I greatly admire the skills of the staff. They are always so kind to me and everyone I see them deal with. They truly understand how to work with residents and thoughtfully navigate the different moods each resident's experience from day to day. Having lived here for about a year and a half, I can honestly say I feel very comfortable and grateful. I feel lucky to call The Bristal York home. It’s a place where I can truly be myself, and even my family has noticed the positive difference in me.
