Really hard to get your property back here if they take it. Everyone was great in every way EXCEPT the person answering the door to my husband. We were told we could pick up my grandmother’s bipap which my grandpa owns after they mistakenly took it when she passed. Like I said before, everyone was very helpful and kind in the whole process until actually attempting to pick it up. We were told it was at the front desk, so it should have been accessible to the people in the building. They gave my husband a hard time about how my grandpa wasn’t the patient and it was my grandma who had been the patient. This review isn’t as much for the facility as it is for the very unkind and unprofessional woman my husband interacted with. We got a big fat “well we can’t help you” and no resolution, no bipap yet. Hope we’ll get it someday!

Stephanie Gifford came to KDMC while my Mom was near the end of her life to discuss options. While she ended up going back to Woodland Oaks, I can not thank her enough for the kindness and grace shown when we met.

Community Hospice is the real deal when it comes to compassionate care. As the sole caregiver for my dad, who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, I really appreciated all of the help they provided during that difficult time. It's been two years since that experience, and I still think about them with great admiration and appreciation. They truly go the extra mile... and even though they deal with end-of-life situations every day, they understand that most people don't... and they're there to hold space for you in whatever way you need it.

I normally don't write reviews, but this hospice center deserves one. As a young adult who had to take care of her sick mother, the staff helped anyway they could. They made my mom as comfortable as could be and she never went without anything. Every nurse was extremely caring and went above and beyond. Our night nurse Tammy was extra special though. She was working every night we was there, and she was present when my mom passed. She held me why I cried and didn't rush me out. She let me stay with my mom as long as possible.
