I showed up early for my first therapy session, nervous but ready to finally talk. This place has no waiting/seating area nor a front desk, which is very odd. Just a locked door that I waited outside of. Five minutes passed. Then ten. Then twenty. Then forty-five minutes. I knocked several times and no answer, no doorbell as well. No one came. No message, no explanation. At first I thought I made a mistake, but it slowly turned into frustration and disappointment. It’s hard enough to take that first step, and being met with silence made it feel discouraging. I know one bad experience doesn’t define therapy, but it definitely wasn’t a great start. I will not be coming here again.

I did not have a good experience here. I was never 100% comfortable with the therapist (Amanda) and I did not feel heard with her. I did not feel like she cared. On what turned out to be our last session (total of 3 sessions) she told me that I needed to give grace to my daughters female abuser as she was an abused wife herself and not everyone has the ability to walk away like I did. I didn’t have the ability either but I had a best friend who did not want me repeating the same cycle my mom and grandma did. Not fully knowing the dynamics in our family or w/the abusers, she admonished me for something that turned out to true! Regardless if the female abuser deserved pity or not, I am allowed to feel the way I feel and it was not her right to tell me my feelings were wrong and invalid. After that, I never returned. 0/5 stars DO NOT RECOMMEND!

John Alvarez was very courteous, professional and understanding. He was very easy to talk with and listened very well. I didn't expect a counseling session to be so easy. John just let the conversation flow without any expectations or pressure. He also provided very positive feedback. We are going back for another session soon.

I felt very comfortable with my counselor. She was very patient and listened to all I had to say. We started setting up goals for me. I have really been in need of this type of service for a long time. I am thrilled to learn new skills to make me stronger & less vulnerable.

Jasmine has a way of making you feel comfortable being vulnerable. She may never know, but I was so grateful for our session today. She made me feel like I made the right decision reaching out to talk to someone about what’s going on.
