I’d like to preface by saying the food provided by Cape Creations was great. However, larger issues during our wedding day explain our low review. Given the stress we endured and the lack of reliability from their staff, we unfortunately cannot recommend Cape Creations.
Throughout our planning process, we worked with Westley. While he was pleasant to interact with, communication was often delayed, and reaching him was inconsistent.
In the month leading up to the wedding, we made our final payment and confirmed with Westley that he had everything he needed from us. Despite having a planner, we worked directly with Westley for catering coordination, as we hired him before bringing her on.
On the wedding day, we were informed that the catering team arrived two hours late and did not bring the full number of staff we had paid for. This caused ongoing issues, especially at the bars. We had arranged and paid for two operating bars, but only one was open. Some guests were told that certain drinks, like gin and tonics, couldn’t be made—even though all the ingredients were visibly available. My spouse and I even had to request refills on our own water.
When we reached out to Westley afterward, we were disappointed by the lack of accountability. He attributed the issues to our planner and declined to reimburse us for the missing staff and the associated 20% service fee. When we asked for documentation to support his claims, he was unable to provide any.
While the food itself met expectations, the overall execution and professionalism fell far short of what we were promised—and what any couple should experience on their wedding day.

We used Cape Creations for our wedding (130 people) and had an excellent experience with them. Everybody we worked with was professional timely in responding to us, offered a fair price, provided good options for vegetarian/gluten free guests, and the food was great. Highly recommend for a wedding and I will keep them in mind for any future catering I need done.

From the first time I talked with Tahlor and Mrs. Ruby at Cape Creations to our last conversation about final details prior to our wedding day, I always felt like I was in very capable hands! Cape Creations was truly fantastic to work with, and served the most delicious rehearsal and wedding food. They are honest, kind, reliable, communicative, respectful, and attentive. All of my emails were met with timely and informative responses, and leading up to my wedding we had excellent in-depth meetings to go over all of the details which were always well documented. They catered low country boil and an oyster raw bar at our rehearsal dinner and a brunch-style wedding. Both events could not have been more tasty, better organized, and staffed. Tahlor and Mrs. Ruby are phenomenal and made our experience that much more wonderful. We would pick Cape Creations again every time, and you should too!

So a full year later, and I feel we’ve had time to reflect. We originally met with and signed our contract with Cynthia. Subsequently she sold the business which was totally her choice. We weren’t told about the change in management after signing the contract and before the tasting. We showed up to the tasting with a new owner and a new vibe. We then got assigned a new coordinator who we worked with for a few weeks before she quit or was asked to leave. Leading into our event, we had a new coordinator, and we had assurances that things would be up to expectation. On the day of the event, the owner supposed to show up to supervise given some of the changes but was sick (valid). However, his wife showed up and was just a distracting presence that didn’t seem to make things better. The cooking staff was great and the serving staff was professional, but they missed serving an entire table and had to refire for serving. Subsequently, the staff ate all of the staff meals we had for our planner and her crew, our photographers, and our DJ. I would highly recommend Chef Ruby and her crew because the food was really good. But I would never recommend the business more broadly because we felt like we didn’t get the service we paid for.
Bottom line: Our experience was a year ago so things may have changed. Chef Ruby and her kitchen staff made delicious meals and passed appetizers. The serving staff was professional. Our biggest gripe was management. We didn’t get what we paid for, bar none.

The food is really good! The office I work in orders it for lunch often, it never disappoints. Whatever they put on the fries is on point.
