Cottingham Retirement Community

Cottingham is a wonderful community with caring staff members who go above and beyond! This is a great facility for residents or loved ones to live or receive rehabilitation services.

The place was very terrible and was very disappointed because my mother was only there for at the most five to six days and her first day there she was not attended to for about 4 hours when I got up there to see her and she was wet and upset and hungry and no one knew anything that she was in that room or knew anything about her and when I finally tracked a nurse aide she was in with my mother for about 45 minutes to an hour cleaning her up changing sheets and that should have been something that was supposed to been done hours ago. And when we came in me and my wife everyone was on their phone talking to each other and not attending the residents and I was totally disappointed because only thing I was thinking was trying to get her out of there. And I suggest that when you hire people you hire people that want to make a difference and want to help the residents and assist the residents instead of being on their phone sitting in chairs ordering take out and not doing the job that is supposed to be done

Just did the new visitors log-in system at Cottingham Retirement Community. It is much more advanced than their prior system, providing additional security to the residents and staff. After entering basic information and getting a face scan, I received a visitor pass (which included a face photo) to apply to my shirt/coat. Logging out was easy, and any return visits are now a breeze. The system scans your face and you just need to verify and get the pass. For this to work, front desk staff needs to prompt all visitors to use the system. I too need prompting, as I have not had to check in for so long.

I am just getting started here? I have met some great people here? I am happy to be here as well. I will see how things go here. I do not have any family at all? I have good acquaintances here? Yet I will have to give it more time to get familiar with this place. I hope things will improve here soon. It is not easy being alone with no family or extended friends to speak of. All of my friends and family are all gone. I am starting over again from scratch.

My elderly Aunt has recently moved from her 2 bedroom condo into a 1 bedroom independent living apartment at Cottingham. It is a lovely space and she could not be happier. They have Catholic Mass available on Saturday at 3. I joined her for Mass and stayed for dinner after. Ot was all quite lovely. Moreover, she feels safe and secure. All the staff we have interacted with are kind and welcoming.
