Hello,I wanted to share some feedback regarding my recent interaction with your Human Resources department. I had a missed call from Paola Alvarez-Ramos and returned her call as soon as I could. Unfortunately, during our conversation, I found her approach to be quite abrupt and aggressive, which made me uncomfortable.I understand that everyone has busy days, but I believe that candidate experience is very important, especially during the hiring process. I hope you’ll take this into consideration, as interactions like these may deter qualified candidates from proceeding further.Thank you for your attention to this matter.

I’m not sure which specific location I called since I don’t live in Baltimore or Maryland, but I was calling to ask about services for my elderly father who lives in Baltimore and needs support. Unfortunately, the person who answered the phone—her name may have been Brown was incredibly rude and dismissive.
I explained that I was simply trying to understand what types of services or programs were available for older adults. Instead of offering any help, she kept repeating, “I don’t know what you mean by that,” in a tone that made it feel like I was bothering her. It was frustrating and honestly disheartening.
Is it really too much to expect someone answering the phone to be able to list the services your agency provides or at the very least, speak with basic courtesy and clarity? I wasn’t asking for anything complicated. I was just trying to get help for my father. If this is how you respond to people reaching out for support, something needs to change. Do better!

Each year, Catholic Charities compassionately cares for more than 160,000 men, women, and children in need in the Archdiocese of Baltimore.
