J.S. Waterman Langone Chapel

My family lives locally in the neighborhood to which J.S. Waterman Langone Funeral Home is located. Our family member pre-planned her arrangements, having met with Dino Manco years in advance. When our family member passed, we were blown away by the manner in which everything was handled. Dino and Peter Bruno met with us to discuss what was planned, and were so compassionate and patient with us. When a family member requested if we could have a collage of pictures, Dino reviewed his notes and kindly advised that pictures were against the wishes of the descendant. Throughout it all, Dino and Peter made sure to keep the decedent’s wishes at the forefront, while giving us suggestions and input that only they could. They recommended a florist for us to use (which was wonderful), provided insight on notifications to Social Security and other government agencies and also gave us tips on what to be on the lookout for with scammers. The day prior to the funeral, we were provided a private viewing of our family member, as it was a closed casket. Our family member never looked better. Had they known what they would look like, a closed casket wouldn’t have been requested. She looked absolutely stunning. Dino and Peter took care of everything from the point they were notified of the death to providing us copies of the death certificate. They handled the flowers at the church, ensuring we received all of the cards from each, managed the burial and ensured that everything went according to our family member’s wishes. I can’t recommend Langone Funeral Home enough. They took what is a very stressful and upsetting time and made it easier for us to get through. We can’t thank them enough for all that they did.

They anticipated needs we didn’t yet know we had and carried us through incredibly difficult moments with steadiness and heart. This is not just a service they provide—it is a calling. We are profoundly grateful for the love, dignity, and compassion they showed our family, not once, but twice. In the hardest chapters of our lives, they were truly incredible.

J.S. Waterman Langone was recommended to me from a family member as I am out of state and have limited knowledge and resources in the Boston area. I connected with Peter Bruno on Sunday morning and after talking with him, I did not even call other funeral homes. Peter was knowledgeable, honest, compassionate and helped to make the process as simple as possible. Peter communicated via text and email with my sister and me every step of the way, so there were no surprises or feelings of uncertainty. Peter went above and beyond every step of the way whether it was texting at 10:00PM with questions for us or answers to our questions to securing the death certificate- Peter handled it all with compassion, professionalism and grace. I cannot say enough about Melodie and Dino at Waterman-Langone’s. They were both so compassionate and helpful. I was somewhat overwhelmed with the sudden death of my cousin and they were by my side the whole time. Thank you both for making a difficult time so much easier.
