From the very beginning of my brother Bill’s placement at Edenbrook Yeadon, Guardian Hospice has been a constant source of comfort, dignity, and genuine human connection for him. Bill is very young to be in a care home, but Huntington’s disease has taken so much from him far too early. Even so, Guardian has never treated him as “just a patient.” They see him—his personality, his history, his humor, and the parts of him that still shine through despite the progression of his illness. Krista, in particular, has been extraordinary. She often tells me how much she admires Bill’s attitude—how he greets her with that familiar spark in his eyes, how he leans into moments of joy. Other members of the Guardian team have echoed the same sentiment: that Bill’s spirit is steady and endearing. When Guardian first became involved, Krista showed up with Eagles gear to decorate his room—banners, colors, little touches that made the space feel like his. It meant more than she probably realizes. She also noticed right away that Bill had formed a friendship with another resident. Instead of letting that go unnoticed, she encouraged it. Now the two of them pair up for music therapy, and those sessions have become a highlight for them. She remembered his birthday with balloons, a card, and plenty of ice cream—because she knows that ice cream is one of the few things he still gets excited about. Bill absolutely lights up during the pet visits. He had many dogs when he was younger and healthy, and those moments of connection seem to reach a part of him that nothing else can. Just this week, Guardian hosted a wonderful Valentine’s Day celebration, and Bill was right there in the middle of it, enjoying every bit of the attention and warmth. What stands out to me most is that Guardian Hospice doesn’t just provide care—they provide presence. They see Bill as a whole person, not a diagnosis. They talk about him with affection. They notice the small things. They celebrate him. And for someone in the later stages of Huntington’s disease, that kind of compassion is everything. Guardian has been a beacon for Bill, and for our family. I am profoundly grateful for the way they honor who he is.

From the time I was introduced to Guardian starting with the hospice care for my wife Dr. Barbara Collins, I have been thoroughly impressed with the services that you provide. I distinctly remember Lindsay‘s first visit when she walked in to grab Barber‘s hand and started talking to her about the last phase of the journey. She said to Lindsay I want to have my friends and relatives visit me. This wish was granted. The staff has been more than excellent in their work with her. They made her as comfortable as possible circumstances. I have been a walking billboard for the services provided by Guardian. You are second to none.

It took three months after the death of my dad to leave this review, but I believe it is important for other families considering using Guardian Hospice out of Willow Grove, PA. It was our first time using hospice for a loved one and it extremely disappointing and stressful. I would Never use them again or even recommend using them until they are a fully competent company that you know you could depend on. The only reason I gave two stars vs. none is because: 1.) An excellent nurse who really cared about my dad and our hospice journey with him in our home. 2.) After informing the owner of many of the problems with their service during the first two weeks alone, he offered to take responsibility for transporting my dad to our son’s wedding, which we really appreciated. Unfortunately, the hospice service continued to have lack of leadership, organization, communication and consistency up until and after my dad’s death. For example: - Never obtained the “comfort kit” that should be received immediately after contracting with the hospice service. - Took weeks before receiving the appropriate meds and supplies. - Majority of the time I/we didn’t know who was the right contact for help. We constantly had to call our dad’s nurse for guidance. - Slow in responding to critical inquiries. For example, the doctor the hospice uses. He did not get back to us when my dad was in extreme pain and we had nothing stronger to give him. Once again, my dad’s nurse had to contact him directly. Hours later (11:30 pm) the medicine finally arrived. - Certain members of the staff were incompetent with their duties which we addressed with the owner. - By law, the doctor is supposed to sign the death certificate within 48 hours of the patient’s death. It took eight days for the hospice doctor to comply. This delayed and complicated the funeral process. Loosing my dad was heartbreaking enough. I would highly recommend doing thorough research on hospice companies before making this very important decision for your loved one.

Guardian Hospice reached out to assist with our dear family member's hospice and comfort needs. As others have said, they are dedicated and professional beyond measure. Skilled specialists inquired about patient interests and preferences and the info shared was acted upon quickly. Staff call and text to share information after they visit --even their Director of Nursing checked in based on her recent visit! The facility staff even commented positively to me about Guardian's superior service and care. You get a true advocate for the patient and family when you bring in Guardian Hospice! Keep up the great work!!!
