I was appalled when I heard the front desk girl talking poorly about incoming participants and how unintelligent they are with other staff members during dinner on my last visit. All the good facilitators for the children are gone, these were actual APS teachers who were able to manage the kid groups instead of sticking them in a padded room. I dont whose running this now but they are doing a poor job at making a safe place for everyone. I am witnessing staff discriminate and judge incoming participants. There is a lack of consistency in facilitators, how are we supposed to feel safe sharing when everyweek there's a new facilitator. Bring back Christine for love of all cause this ain't working no more.

I seen a female grief counselor here. I won’t mention her name. She was nice but if you’re ever late it seems like she gets upset. Even if you’re a few minutes late. Sometimes situations happen and you can’t avoid being late. Anyhow, this is the main reason I stopped going to see her. I was late twice maybe three times and the way she reacted made me decide to not see her anymore. Also, I emailed her twice after I stopped seeing her to ask her a question about a letter and she didn’t reply to either one of my emails. I was surprised by this because I thought she was compassionate. I mean at least respond as a curtesy to a recent former patient.

The grief Center provided me with the resources I need to start a grief support group in my community! They also provided me a tour and ideas on how to set up an environment/atmosphere to provide comfort to those who attend the group. I will continue to refer together for assistance.

No one wants to be a part of a grief support group. If you're struggling, I highly recommend this place. It is an amazing support group for different types of loss. It's awesome for children, teens, and adults. Lots of activities on the side. Overall, it has been a great experience, and it's something I look forward to every other week.

The Grief Center is a merger between another Grief Center and the former Children's Grief Center of New Mexico. There is still a tremendous amount of support for children's grief, but they've expanded and include services and support for all ages. I attended training here recently and I got an inside look at how they do things. The're well organized and they're absolutely focused on the mission of helping people adapt and survive the trauma of death. If you've suffered a loss, and you are searching for what to do and how to go about doing it. ... Or if you just might feel like not being alone. ... Then you could do much worse than to go get support at a place like this. You won't be judged, and your privacy is always respected. Nobody's above getting some help sometimes. And keep in mind that as you're getting help, you can also be there to help others.
