I recently visited Morrissett Funeral Home and left very disappointed. What should have been a respectful environment for those to grieve was very unprofessional. A large white poodle, labeled as a “therapy animal in training,” was out of control. It was running through the building, barking, jumping on others, and nipping at children. That is not “comfort.” It is disruptive, inappropriate, and an obvious liability. A funeral home is not the place to “train” an animal, especially when people are there to mourn. Also, the staff member at the door couldn’t even be bothered to look up from their cell phone to acknowledge those coming in. The lack of awareness was appalling. This is NOT the Morrissett I remember. They once had a calm and well-trained brown lab that truly provided comfort. Replacing that with an untrained, disobedient animal is a serious mistake. This experience left an extremely negative impression. Morrissett should be ashamed of how far their standards have fallen.

Update: The first time my wife called, she was told the owner would need to provide the contact information for the contracted company. The owner was to call back with that info. NO call was received. When calling back to follow up she was told they did not know why the owner never responded and there was nothing else that could be done. Not once was any contact information provided. All receipts for the purchase stated Morrissett Funeral. NO additional contact information. Dishonesty does not help with the situation. Its funny after you leave a truthful review, you get a response...but online only to address the negative review. Just a sad way to run a business which takes advantage of people who are mourning the loss of a loved one.
If I could leave a 0 star I would. Sold a "memories" book of our loved one....looked like straight garbage. I could have done better with crayons. SO DISRESPECTFUL. When we contacted them about it, they could care less. Our loved one has already passed so they can't get their money twice is their attitude I guess.... wth
Horrible company and horrible people to deal with.
Definitely bring your loved ones and business elsewhere.

Compassionate and friendly staff. The funeral director/owner made the experience easier to go through than I anticipated. Everything was handled with the utmost care and consideration from start to finish. There were unexpected wonderful surprises when we gathered for the viewing, such as banners of places my loved one enjoyed visiting. In addition, there was a blanket on display with photos and a garden flag with my loved one's picture, as well as a collage of photos that we could keep. The viewing was very customized and made a difficult situation much more bearable. The funeral was held at our church, but again, the staff from Morrissett did an amazing job setting everything up and making sure everything ran smoothly. This is a top notch organization and I highly recommend them.

I can't recommend Morrissett enough for funeral services. I'm not religious, and at no point was there that sense of awkwardness or tip-toeing that I had with funeral providers in the past. Margaret was absolutely wonderful: she had suggestions, helpful notes, and at NO point did she try to "up-sell" us on anything at all. There were SO many options, but Margaret was able to guide us gently through them all. We felt welcomed from the moment we walked into the facility. Did I mention that there are dogs? Lovely, sweet therapy dogs...and birds! The atmosphere is respectful and comforting but not somber. I got the feeling that regardless of your religion, lifestyle or budget, you would get the same loving care from everyone at Morrissett. It's such a difficult time for us, but Morrissett went a long way to help us and made it more bearable.

Margaret and her staff at Morrissett Funeral and Cremation are simply amazing. My son unexpectedly passed away in a vehicle accident and I had no idea what steps to take for his Celebration of Life. Margaret took the time to walk me through everything and was present every step of the way as my pain and my absent-comprehension were overwhelming.
As far as the service, when I walked in the room I was in awe of how well Margaret and team captured my son's personality. The staff was amazing. The space is updated and not "funeral home" feeling. I can't express enough in this review how pleased I am with choosing Morrissett for our family's tragedy.
