My grandfather Colonel William Maltby was a career Salvation Army officer and songwriter who penned the iconic chorus, “Christ Is The Answer.” l am in town today and stopping by NHQ to be reminded of what l love so much about this amazing organization.

I will never ever recommend anyone to donate clothes or furniture to Salvation Army. They’re extremely picky and no one has time to have a pickup and be refused. I had a couch that was in decent shape and because the arm had a crease on it, it was denied. Even the pickup guy for them said they’ve been denying good stuff all day. It’s ridiculous. Just say you don’t want to pickup furniture and stop advertising that you do. Go to 1800 got junk

Nice. I was able to reconnect with my true self. Food, Clothing, Shelter & unconditional Love. I obtained Peace and Happiness, as well as other services there inorder for me to help myself whenever I was struggling with certain issues I had along the way.

I scheduled a pick-up several weeks in advance. The pick-up was marked as complete online, but they did not pick up a single item that I left out front. When I called the next day to reschedule the pick-up, the operator complained that I had not called them sooner (apparently 24 hours is too long), and told me that he did not believe me that the driver hadn't picked anything up. I previously had a positive opinion of Salvation Army, but I will donate elsewhere in the future.
