My mom lived in Assisted Living at Courtyard at Mount Tabor and received such great care as her medical and social needs changed due to advanced stage Parkinsons disease. I am so impressed with the members of her care team who treated her as a member of their own family, listening to her stories and engaging her in conversation in the course of their work providing meals, medicine, housekeeping, etc. From the staff in the restaurant, to the reception desk, to nurses, care staff and housekeeping, mom established friendly reliable relationships with the Mount Tabor staff community. The genuine care the staff has for my mom was evident in her final weeks, as they routinely came to check on her, even knowing my sisters and I were sitting with her - they offered help, condolences and so much comfort to us. It was obvious to me she was well cared for and very much loved by her care team. Her caregivers, Remky, Alejandra and Crystal were so kind, and encouraging with mom. Ruby and Faith from the Activities team did their mighty best to get my normally very social mom out of her apartment when her anxiety was mounting and her communication skills were suppressed by Parkinson's so that she struggled to find the momentum to socialize on her own. I am so grateful to the Med Tech team - Jenny, Lilly and Ladera who found creative and comforting ways to help mom take medication when hand-eye coordination and swallowing became difficult and her need for comfort meds quickly changed in hospice care. The way this team coordinates to care for the rapidly changing needs of their residents was really amazing to see - from medication to food to personal care needs, this team kept each other well informed of what my mom needed on a daily, and at the end, an hourly basis - all while coordinating with the external hospice team. Thank you all for providing my mom with a beautiful and peaceful place to live, and to find her rest. My family is eternally grateful to you!

I'm writing this review about Kristie and the staff at the Courtyard at Mt. Tabor Pavilion (Memory Care). My mom has been living there for about 3 years now and it's been a very tough experience. But right now I have lots of hope as Kristie, the new Director, has greatly improved the communication with us as a family, as well as completed a much needed care plan for my mom. It's so nice to feel like someone is in charge and cares about the residents, the staff, and how the community functions on a daily basis. It is really difficult trusting the care of your loved one who cannot advocate for themselves in the hands of others, but we are so thankful for the kind, hardworking, patient staff who help her everyday. And for Kristie and the professionalism, competency and positive attitude she brings to the job!

After having helped my Aunt find independent living for herself and her beloved cat, I have only positive things to say about Courtyard at Mt. Tabor in Portland. Erin, Riley and Austin have gone beyond the norm to insure success for the difficult move from my Aunt’s home of 22+ years to her new home at Courtyard. They have worked with me from out of state , with our realtor dream team from Seniors on the Move, to coming up with creative ways to transition into her current home there. I am impressed with their speed of response, attention to detail and compassion for all the emotions for all parties involved…not just the future resident. Hats off to the afore mentioned trio and the front desk who transferred all my calls in search of answers!

My mom moved in to Assisted Living during the holidays in December. It was a difficult decision to move her during the holidays, but it was driven by need for care. My mom, sisters and I were so thankful for the warm and caring staff that showered my mom with attention and excellent care right from the start. My mom was reluctant to move, but after a few short weeks she was feeling so much better (shout out to great med management!). Mom is much more social, happier and actually has more stamina because she’s finally getting the proper care she needed. Mom LOVES the staff and my sisters and I are grateful that the time we get to spend with her is more pleasant. The activity coordinator even got my mom to play Texas Hold ‘Em, she’s loving the activities!

This facility not only provides care but provides activities that continues to stimulate the mind. They treat the residents well as if they were family. This is not easily done as there are a large group of people There are lots of activies available and residents are encouraged to join. One of the activity directors is very good at arranging this is Graham Woods keeping this fresch and works with staff to keep it fresh. Thanks
