Washington Monument

The Washington Monument is a breathtaking sight on the National Mall, standing tall as a powerful symbol of American history. Even without going inside, the grounds are beautifully maintained, and the obelisk looks majestic from every angle, especially at sunset or with the Reflecting Pool in view. We tried to get tickets for the elevator ride to the observation deck but unfortunately couldn’t secure any on short notice — they sell out extremely fast. The views from the top are supposed to be spectacular, with panoramic sights of the White House, Capitol, Lincoln Memorial, and beyond. Next time, we’ll definitely book well in advance through Recreation.gov (tickets are released 30 days out and go quickly, with a small $1 service fee). Same-day walk-up options at the lodge are limited and often gone early. It’s still absolutely worth visiting the site for the history, architecture, and inspiring atmosphere. A must-see in DC — just plan your timed entry tickets ahead to fully experience it! Highly recommended.

The Washington Monument is certainly an iconic place and structure worth visiting. It is.something to behold whether you see it from a distance or up close. What makes it an awasome experice is going up the elevator and seeing the monument from the inside, along with hearing the history. Each side offers sweeping views of the a city and surrounding areas. It is a fantastic experience. The museum just below the observation area is quite informative. I highly recommend going to see it, especially going up to the top of it.

This place is seriously cool and totally packed with history! Visiting the tall, pointy landmark was an absolute highlight for me. It's such an iconic structure and really gives you a sense of the past. I loved exploring the grounds and taking it all in. Definitely recommend checking this spot out if you get the chance!

We didn't have reservations, so we were just planning on walking around the outside of the monument and taking pictures. But we got quite lucky. One of the rangers was giving away some tickets and we snagged them. 20 minutes later, we were at the top of the monument. Amazing view! Highly recommended, but make your reservations in advance.
