Amedisys Hospice Care

Amedisys Hospice provided exceptional care for my mother during her final days. The team of nurses, aides, and doctors were kind, compassionate, and attentive to her every need. They went above and beyond to make sure she was comfortable and pain-free, and they provided emotional support for both my mother and our family. The hospice team also worked closely with her care team to ensure continuity of care. I highly recommend Amedisys Hospice for anyone in need of hospice care. Thank you for the wonderful care you provided for my mother.

LAURA THE DAY NURSE IS AMAZING AND COMPASSIONATE. THEY HAD ORDERED SUPPLIES FOR MY MOTHER BUT THEY HAD NOT COME IN YET LAURA BROUGHT WHAT SHE COULD AND TOLD US TO CALL THE OFFICE IF WE RAN OUT AND SOMEONE WOULD BRING SOME OUT. WE ENDING UP RUNNING OUT AND CALLING THE OFFICE ONLY TO MET WITH A RETURN PHONE CALL FROM THE TYLER SAYING IT'S 10PM CAN'T YOU WAIT. IF WE COULD HAVE WAITED WE WOULDN'T BE CALLING. TYLER'S TITLE SAYS IT ALL "NIGHT NURSE" IF SHE DOESN'T LIKE THE HOURS OF HER JOB THEN MAYBE SHE SHOULD FIND A DAY JOB. ALSO THEY WERE UNABLE TO MAKE MY MOTHER COMFORTABLE SO WE ENDED UP TAKING A DIFFERENT ROUTE.

My 95 year old mother was released from the hospital last week and was put on hospice due to congestive heart failure and because she has gone to eating just 2 or 3 bites a meal. We used Amedysis as we had just started to use them for her OT and PT right before she was put in the hospital. With the exception of their chaplain, their communication on when they will be in to visit my mother has been terrible. The use an app that shows up as Unknown Caller with no phone number showing. They social worker was an hour late to the first appointment. She told me the nurses first visit would be Tuesday after 9 and that didn’t happen. An aide did call and on Tuesday afternoon to see if it would be ok to give mom a shower. She did show up on time and was warm and caring. When I called the office number I was told the nurse would come see her Weds. Sat in mom’s room until 1030 and no one showed. If the communication and care gets better, I will update my rating.

We were so thankful for the wonderful Amedisys team helping us take this last journey with our precious mom. They were there with us explaining the progression and some how in the midst of grief, this was very comforting. I am thankful to Debbie who is still in touch with us. I think you are all angels on earth!

Amedisys Hospice did a wonderful job assisting my sister and I before, and after, the passing of our mother. We are truly grateful for all of the wonderful, caring, and thoughtful staff members that have provided support. Although it is never easy when a loved one passes, Amedisys Hospice was there every step of the way and we feel very fortunate to have had them by our sides during this emotional time.
