Been going to Thriveworks for a few years now, they have always been subpar with their billing practices and fees, but since 2025 they have gotten significantly worse. When your billing falls behind (on their end), your appointments are quickly canceled. However, if you need to cancel an appointment yourself, you’re charged nearly double the cost of the appointment (and despite what they say about a 48-hour cancellation window, it’s realistically closer to 72 hours). Life happens (people get sick, emergencies come up, etc.) but Thriveworks shows very little flexibility or understanding in these situations. Instead, patients are being penalized for circumstances outside of their control. Overall, the experience has been frustrating and disappointing. The billing policies feel excessive and unfair, and it’s hard to justify the cost given how rigid and unforgiving the system is. I would not recommend Thriveworks to others looking for care, nor will I be continuing care through them.

We are so thankful to have Lisa working with our son. It’s hard to get a teenager to talk but you get him to look forward to talking to you. Lisa has really helped our son gain coping skills to deal with mood and anxiety. She is top notch.

I absolutely love the counselor that was selected for me based on my individual needs. She is dependable, easy to talk to, relatable, and patient with my issues. She asks questions if she doesn't understand what I'm talking about, which means she's actually listening!!! People have said that online counseling isn't effective, I completely disagree with that statement.

Thriveworks has truly changed and saved my life. Ms. Donisha Austin has helped me navigate through loss, grief, divorce, anger and more. She has done an amazing job allowing me to truly feel how I feel, she’s created a safe space for me to actually talk about everything without feeling judged and then she took these things and helped me to become better!

We were matched with someone not in Ohio for my daughter. The therapist did help provide an eye opening dx that helped find better medication, but I felt there was a huge disconnect in the "plan" forward. - was there a plan?, was it every week?, was it monthly?, communication with me, the parent was not coordinated - since I am paying the bill I needed to be at least briefed on the therapy plan. My daughter was confused over the meetings... Not covered by our insurance, so weekly meeting were too expensive. Sad b/c I believe in mental health care - wish more insurances supported it. I think Thrive is good, and I probably needed to choose a younger professional who knows how to use technology on the same level as my teen.
