I am very thankful with the staff at this facility, they really make sure my mom was comfortable while she was dying. They made this difficult time less painful. Quiet and clean place. One night one nurse was rude with me, then other 2 nurses apologized to me for the other nurse behavior. It was very much appreciated. Very compassionate staff and volunteers. My mom died peacefully there and I am very thankful for that!

ZERO stars!! 1st off DO NOT take your loved one there if they are Mentally Competent and Fully Aware! They will keep them highly medicated with the order of the spouse. The doctor and the nurses have no sympathy and don't want to hear what the family is trying to tell them about your loved one being fully aware and can make decisions for their own with not needing pain medication around the clock, every 2 hrs and totally ignoring their own wishes, smdh!! They let a competent person slowly starve to death. Leaving them to die within there own mind. SICKENING!!!! They DO NOT clean the room nor the patient. It takes them hours after bringing it to their attention for them to finally change the diaper! You have to tell them to give your loved one a bath or do it yourself. Night nurses ignore the patient when trying to speak through the drugs they pump them up with. And I must express that they listen to only the spouse even when the blood children are trying to keep the loved one from dying sooner rather then later. Comfort measures they say!! Yeah by keeping them, once again, highly medicated!!! Ohh there's more to the story WITH RECEIPTS, But I feel you get the gist!! I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!

When my sister was losing her battle with cancer a few weeks ago, she was transferred from the hospital to Suncoast Hospice Care Center North Pinellas located in Palm Harbor, FL to spend her last couple of days in peace and comfort. The doctors, nurses, nurses' aids and volunteers were awesome, very competent and compassionate. They provided my sister with outstanding care and kept us updated on her condition until the last minute of her life. Thank you all for everything you did for my sister during her last few days and for our family after she passed away.

I have known 2 Suncoast patients that were very close to me. Both times I was extremely impressed with the quality of care, communication, and respect given to them as well as their family and friends. The facility has beautiful areas to sit and walk inside and outside. There are refreshments available at all times too. Family and friends can visit 24 hours a day. The building is secure as well. You must be let in. There is always someone at the front desk to let you in and give you a visitor’s tag. It is the most wonderful place to go at the most difficult time.

They REALLY CARE!!! I'm posting this information for those who have loved ones and are either scared what they will find and for those who cannot make it to see friends or family but want to know what it looks like. Each patient gets their own private room and bathroom. The rooms are large and have a sleeper sofa, reclining chair, folding chairs, cable TV, DVD player and a small refrigerator for special needs items. (Ex: my dad only drinks a certain protein drink. We were able to bring it and refrigerate it). Friends and family can come and go 24/7. The front doors close at 8pm, but ring the bell and you're in. They have lots of fresh cookies, coffee, hot tea, and other items for guests for free. Family and friends can spend the night, just ask for bedding. They can stay for as long as the patient likes. There are plenty of restaurants close by to eat at or bring meals back. All of the staff are amazing. I don't know how they handle working with so many people who are terminal. The nurses and CNAs are so cheerful, explain what they are going to do, make sure to introduce themselves, and go way beyond what you would get at a normal hospital. They allow dogs! If the patient has a dog, someone can bring it by for a visit. They even have dog treats. Just let the front desk know so they can note where they are. (I didn't see any cats so I don't know if they are allowed). The food and food options for patients is good. They have a nice variety and can ask for more. Ex: breakfast- eggs, French toast, sausage, cereal, fruits, etc Lunch & dinner- soup, salad, burgers, grilled cheese sandwiches, fries, veggies and desserts. They don't want patients to go hungry. If they don't want to eat they can have protein shake. There are a few sitting areas, a chapel, screened patios, and a nice walking trail. So family and friends can have some alone time. They also have a kids room for small children to play in while others check on loved ones. (Play room is unsupervised) My brother wasn't able to make it here so I took lots of pictures for him to see the quality of this location and how amazing the staff is. If you, a friend or family member needs to come here, please do not be afraid. They will take care of the person with love and respect.
