If there were any other affordable retirement apartments, I would move my grandfather. I have been nothing but patient and understanding for the last 5 months that there has been ongoing issues with my grandfather’s rent being deducted for more than it should. I have also emailed a complaint a month ago about their billing departments predatory practices, never heard back. I have waited for multiple calls to be returned. I have waited to be attached to emails to the billing department for answers. Nothing. I would never recommend whispering chase to anyone. Such a poor experience and staff has informed me that my grandfather is not the only one with these issues. How concerning is that? They have also dismissed my grandfather’s attempts to have his toilet fixed due to it leaking. Maintenance always tells him it’s not leaking. He has water on his floor everyday that he has to wipe up.

As a resident of Whispering Chase, I really appreciate my room lay out and my balcony. The service workers and admin are top notch. This has changed and the change has been very positive. I only give a 4 because a few of the residents have lost all social skills. Not due to medical issues. Due to rude, impolite and rather hateful behavior. All in all, it’s marvelous, but as everywhere, there are some that are challenging.

Great community! The tour we took for mom was great! We stayed for a delicious home cooked meal. Staff was friendly and the new Director Heather was very nice and well informed of options. Chance showed us around and we found the perfect studio at an affordable rate on the 2nd floor! Glad we stopped by, after touring other buildings in town Whispering Chase made sense financially and with Senior Helpers in the building we feel confident mom can get the help she may need down the road. I'm reading the reviews on here and quite frankly the false information on here is shocking. Let's begin Delia Derrera's reviews talks about assisted living and the nurses etc. at Whispering Chase. Well, Whispering Chase is NOT assisted living and there are no nurses on staff. We moved our loved one in about 18 months ago and all we have seen are negative changes. For example, for the last 4 months the outdoor lights have been out and even though management has been notified multiple times the lights are still out. In the 18 months our loved one has been here, my family has lost count of the number of new managers and activity directors they have had. It's just a revolving door of people that try to make good changes but they can only push a boulder uphill so far before they are burnt out and leave. The wait staff, housekeeping do the best they can but they are understaffed. The corporate company apparently uses a ratio system so, for example, dining hall staff there are two servers for approximately 50 - 60 residents. There are, last I knew, two housekeepers for approximately 100 residents. Food....well let's just say, many times my family brings in food because there food is disgusting. Everything from meals with a lot of spices on them which most senior residents don't like to "spaghetti or lasagna bakes" which are so dried out... Again the wait staff do the best they can it is the corporate office that has run down Whispering Chase; it was a much better place BEFORE they were bought by Sky Active Living. The residents, from the experiences my loved one and my family have had, are kind and caring of one another. Many residents have helped my loved one when they've been confused or upset. BUT I've observed staff that just walk by residents and/or ignore them when they are trying to ask questions. Anyway, Whispering Chase was once a really nice place BUT it's not what it once was. Only interest seems to be in getting as much as they can from the residents.

This place currently is in shambles the housekeeper VERGINIA does nothing.. when you ask her when is she is going to come in your room she says when I get around to it. Does not leave toilet paper or change sheets goes through your laundry and steals your towels. she should have been let go long ago. There is NO cable but we pay for it the Maintenance never happens there is tripping hazards all over the residents rooms due to carpet needing to be replaced when requested to have this carpet in several rooms replaced it was dismissed causing clients an unsafe living environment. This was told to James and to the old Ashley for several years now, to replace all tripping hazards such as the carpet in several rooms we have to pay almost 4000 a month for awful shoddy living conditions bad management year after year and filthy living conditions. People are being taken for a ride in here do Not come here.
