Cherry Laurel - Sky Active Living

My mother was in Cherry Laurel and this was the happiest I have ever seen her. The facility is great and the residents are positive and happy. She was so sad to have to leave. I highly recommend this facility. The staff were always helpful and kind.

Cherry Laurel is a fun and active community with happy residents! Their caring and attentive Team is always ready to ensure their residents are happy and having a great time each day! Often times they have live music, happy hour, outings and much more. They know how to celebrate life and you can see at their resident’s smiles that they feel proud to be and call Cherry Laurel their home!

Cherry Laurel is a wonderful place for seniors to thrive! The atmosphere is warm, comforting, friendly, and just a feeling of genuineness. The staff are caring and attentive. The activities keep the residents engaged. If you prefer to read quietly in the library, a good game of competition, or fitness. There’s something for everyone to nurture the mind, body, and soul.

Deeply Unethical Sales Tactics – A Serious Privacy Concern I am extremely disturbed by the sales tactics employed by this establishment. I initially visited the website A Place for Mom seeking a one-stop-shop to explore senior living options. As expected, I provided my email and phone number, fully aware this would likely result in follow-up communication via calls, texts, or emails. What I did not expect was for a representative from Cherry Laurel – Sky Active Living to show up in person at my former place of employment and leave information at the front desk. To be clear: I never listed or mentioned my employment history on A Place for Mom. This means the representative must have searched for my name online, found outdated employment information, and used that to track me down. I have not worked for that employer in over 3–4 years — however, my partner currently does, and he was called down at work to receive the information. His work was disrupted, and worse, our personal business was made known to others in his workplace. This is a gross violation of privacy and incredibly inappropriate behavior. I cannot overstate how troubling it is to have a random salesperson show up at a previous workplace uninvited, especially using outdated online information. Regardless of how well-reviewed the facility may be, I will not consider doing business with a company that uses such invasive and unprofessional tactics. I strongly caution others to be aware of their methods before engaging.

My mother had the pleasure of living at Cherry Laurel for just about two years. We recently had her move into an assisted living facility closer to us, but Cherry Laurel was the perfect place for her after downsizing from her home in Tallahassee. We found all of the staff members to be caring, dedicated, and professional. Valerie is a terrific leader and always has a smile on her face. My mom so enjoyed dancing with her on Wednesday afternoons! Donna went above and beyond to make Cherry Laurel feel like home. She decorates beautifully for every holiday and does whatever she can to include residents in activities. I'd also give a big shout out to Tyrone and the head chef. These are terrific individuals who have been with Cherry Laurel for decades. If you go to visit, ask about how long key staff have been in their positions. It speaks to a deep commitment to the community and residents. We looked at numerous places before choosing Cherry Laurel and we were very happy with our decision!
