Fredericka Manor Retirement Community in Chula Vista

I highly recommend Fredericka for a very lovely, beautiful, active, and supportive retirement community. My family has personally experienced in the past 5 years, independent cottage living, assisted living, and memory care at Summer House and SHW. All great experiences!!!

A caring and professional community. 10/10. The Best in SD County! I was given a list of assisted living centers in Chula Vista from Sayra with Care Placement. Fredericka was one of many, but something attracted me towards them more than any other. Fast forward, FM was the best decision. Thank you Sayra! Initially I met Sophia, in sales, and she helped us out tremendously. She is someone who truly cares about helping the family out in time of need. What seemed like an administrative process to move in, felt so controlled under Sophia’s help. She kept on me about what was needed at every step of the way. It’s nice when you have people on your side. Anytime I ran into Sophia, she was always smiling and asking how everything was going. Just a true genuine person and I thank you so much for getting us approved! After moving my mom into her room, I met with the Director of Resident Services Corinna to explain my mother’s condition. She was very empathetic and assured me that my mom would was in the best of hands. During the last week, before my mother’s passing, Corinna helped us move into a quieter space due to some construction. She was always more than accommodating and I truly appreciate the extra care you delivered to make sure my mom had everything she needed. Thank you Corinna! Although my mom’s stay was only a month, she had plenty of staff checking up on her daily. One of the visitors my mom mentioned was the Chaplain, Camille. My mom was a simple person and having someone around to have a conversation with meant so much to her. Camille, you are a very caring person, and we are so grateful for your service! We are still taking good care of my mother’s plant. Lastly, the nursing staff at Fredericka was outstanding! My mom was enrolled into their med management care, but it felt like so much more. I can’t say enough about how great your staff was in taking care of my mom. Anytime a nurse came to my mom’s room, I felt relaxed knowing she was in the best of care. You all were very professional and I can't thank you enough! Everyone at Fredericka is special in my mind. Thank you so very much for all the care. It truly means a lot to me and my family. Thank you Louis in maintenance for asking how my mom was doing and providing her with a power station when the power went out. Also, a big thank you to the cleaning staff. My wife, Evelyn, and I moved from the Chicago area to the San Diego area in 2022, and we then lived for almost 20 years in a condo in Coronado. While we enjoyed immensely being in Coronado, we realized that we were aging and would eventually benefit by being settled into a community where a variety of senior services would be readily available to us. We spent almost four years looking for such an environment throughout San Diego County. When we eventually visited Fredericka Manor, we were immediately struck with the features it offers that no other facility we had visited exhibited. It provides a wide variety of living accommodations in individual cottages set amid beautifully-landscaped gardens, surrounded by majestic trees. Many of these trees are over 100 years old. Also available are apartments that are located in a handsome high-rise building that further houses the dining room, a library, meeting rooms, and other facilities. The residential streets in this complex are quiet and sheltered from through traffic. An award-winning lagoon, with its surrounding garden, offers one of several venues for pleasant walks within the Fredericka Manor campus. The outside neighborhood is pleasant, safe, and conducive to walking as well. The entire community is situated in an area of South Bay, with easy access to freeways, two nearby, large regional shopping malls, banks, numerous conveniently-located shops and businesses, a wide variety of restaurants and coffee shops, physicians and dentists, two nearby major hospitals, and more. No other senior facility of its type, offering independent living, assisted living, and memory care came even close to “checking this many boxes” for us. After moving here, we found the staff to be competent, caring, and personable. The meals are nutritious and excellent. The residents we have met are pleasant, unpretentious, and very interesting and accomplished individuals who hail from many different professions and regions of the United States. It is truly a comfortable, cosmopolitan, and stimulating environment in which to live. We have been living in a spacious two-bedroom, two-bath cottage, with our own attached carport and storage rooms, for over two years now, and we are very happy with the choice we made to move to Fredericka Manor.

I have lived at Fredericka Manor for five years. It is a vibrant community with residents who welcome new people with open arms. There are such a wide variety of activities and exercise classes. There is never a reason to be bored. The food is excellent and our Dining Room is beautiful. Come and see the beautiful park- like setting where we live.

Fredericka Manor is lovely community, very well maintained, full of trees, cute cottages and a great reputation in the community.
