Caraday of Mesquite

The very worst! I broke a hip and went there for rehab. No physical therapy—at all. I never left the bed for 9 days. They had no Physical Therapists on staff or under contract. They burned up my Medicare that only pays for 20 days at 100%. When I tried to go to another REAL rehab, they gave me excuses like the people I needed to talk to were “out” (this lasted for 5 days, various excuses). I got a terrible heat rash on my back (bed 24 hours a day!). I begged for medicine through the nurse’s aids and the nurses on staff from all shifts. Every one said, “we have something for that”, but that was just their programmed answer, because they did not. When the rash was bleeding and scabbing over, a friend brought me Calamine lotion. As soon as the “nurse” saw it he took it away, but never replaced it with anything. Let it itch and bleed, you can’t treat it. They are horrible and fraudulent.

Worst facility ever! They don’t care about the patients. They let patients fall and don’t get them checked out. Facility is filthy. They won’t call 911 if needed, you have to do it. The people who work cover everything up. If you ask for medical records then you have to wait 48 hours or longer. If you have a loved one here please find a new one!

Caraday of Mesquite has been extremely helpful to my family member. I'm grateful to the entire staff. The Director was kind enough to meet at the hospital to discuss the care plans. This location is neat, clean and comfortable for long term care. I was impressed with the activities, physical therapy and the speech therapy options available. The games, large screen television and activities are interesting and good for everyone with their involvement and entertainment daily. The food, medication, hygiene and compassion has been great. I have been here since late April for rehabilitation and I most say this is the best therapy team I have seen. I must appreciate my OT- Isi who isn't easy but very effective. The entire therapy was excellent. Tea the med guy has been looking out for me. I am glad I am going back home in better shape than when I go here.

Volunteering here all these years has brought so much joy to my life. The residents here have shared great wisdom with me which has inspired my poetic side many a time. A true blessing, I encourage anyone who is thinking of volunteering to come here.
