This was definitely a home away from home! Everyone was so welcoming and kind during our stay. Thank you to all the volunteers, staff, and sponsors who put love into this place❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹

I should have rated them long ago but life became busy after our stay here. I get emails about events and donate when I can. Ronald McDonald House is a part of our boys story and always will be. In 2019, i gave birth to twins, one already gone and the other, fighting for his life. There was no way that we were leaving our survivor. We had a 5 year old at the time too and had no idea what to do. Ronald McDonald gave us a place as a family, to stay near our boy. There is no way we will ever be able to repay them for what they did. Our boy survived and is now a happy, healthy, smart 6 year old with tons of friends. And because of all of the social workers who helped us, I went back to school and ill have my masters in social work soon now. I can't thank you guys enough for all the support and kindness that you showed. I can't thank you enough for keeping my family together when it felt like the world was falling apart. This is a place of true human compassion. Here's our boy, then and now.

It was an incredibly rewarding and heartfelt experience cooking for the families at the Ronald McDonald House in Orange County. Knowing that we could provide a delicious, home cooked meal for parents whose children are receiving care at CHOC Hospital was deeply meaningful. We send our blessings, pray for their speedy recovery, and wish them and their families comfort and strength. The staff and volunteers here are phenomenal, they make the entire process easy, from sign-up to cleanup. The kitchen is well equipped, and the atmosphere is welcoming and supportive. But the real joy is seeing the families gather, sharing a meal that they didn't have to worry about preparing after a long day at the hospital. If you are looking for a way to donate your time that offers immediate, tangible support to families in crisis, this is it. You are not just cooking; you are giving them a moment of normalcy, comfort, and nourishment during one of the toughest times in their lives. We left feeling grateful and energized, and we can't wait to come back. I highly encourage any group, team, or family looking to make a difference to sign up for the "Meals from the Heart" program! 📝 A Separate Note Regarding Food Donation... To the wonderful team at the Ronald McDonald House, Thank you again for the important work you do. While volunteering, I noticed that the sheer generosity of the community often results in an abundance of perfectly good, untouched, individually-packaged food items (like surplus leftovers, sealed containers of milk, bread, etc.) that eventually need to be discarded. Given the heartbreaking reality of food insecurity, especially with a homeless population nearby, I would strongly suggest exploring a formal partnership with a local food bank or shelter that accepts prepared/packaged donations. Since the food is often stored in the fridge/freezer and remains safely packaged, setting up a daily or twice-weekly pickup schedule could divert this valuable surplus to those in need, honoring the spirit of the original donation while reducing waste. This minor logistical change would allow the generosity extended to your families to bless even more people in the Orange County community.

As a first time mommy to a micro premature baby, this whole experience was crazy but I thank god for this housing because I was able to see my baby everyday and have somewhere to sleep when I needed it , my only issue was with transportation and workers that brought their home personalies to work , there was one great worker there that was nice to me the entire time which was densie, the on site manager tall lady forgot her name and was very rude to me because my child’s father and I were not together & staying in different rooms and she favoured him more then I as did Molly, so I constantly got complained about from Molly and got threatened to be kicked out because I was & I quote “getting to comfortable there” for cooking late when I was at the hospital majority of the day I had depression, anxiety ,& body dysmorphia. My days were very very hard and those two ladies I’ll never appreciate making it harder due to a situation they knew nothing about, they favoured my child’s dad although I told them he was using the housing because he did not go to see my daughter and had no need to stay at the housing they did nothing about that . Honestly think those ladies should not work there especially because the lady manager smoked with my child’s father which is very unprofessional, they are nice when you’re stay is short it seemed I was there longer then 4 months while my baby fought every second for her life

Always a good heart filled time to volunteer cooking or baking for the Ronald House in OC. In a few hours you can leave feeling great knowing you cooked cleaned and served a meal to those that have to call ronal house home away from home to be near someone at CHOC.
