I don't know how there's so many good reviews about this place the one time I stayed there it was not a good experience. We tried getting in there again because my son that has cancer has an appointment at 10:15 in the morning so they won't let us stay because it's not earlier. So now my son has to travel 6 hours that day smh .

The staff is super nice and the kids areas are cool.
If you have no other options it works but I wish would have known what this would be like before checking in. If you get one of the newer rooms you'll probably have a very nice stay but I can honestly say I've never slept so badly in my life. The beds are like cement pads. Had to be up at 6 am for my child's surgery but ended up being woken up twice before that by dumpers being slammed down by the trucks emptying them.
Worst moment of my life knowing my child is about to have open heart surgery got worse by not getting the sleep we needed and being able to rest up adequately the night before. It just added to the stress immensely.
Really happy for everyone that has had great experiences here but this was not our experience. Honestly shocked because the reviews say how comfortable this place is and the common areas are very well kept. There are also photos posted by the house that paint a very different picture of what the rooms are like.
Our room is in need of some serious tlc. Paint chipping off the walls along with them being pretty dirty. Your expected to clean the room before you leave which gives me the impression that the room isn't professionally cleaned and sanitized. By no means would I leave the room dirty but I wouldn't think families going though hard events would be expected to clean tubs, sweep etc as stated on the rules of the house. You are also expected to wash any towels etc you may need during your stay, again the last thing families going though traumatic events should be worried about. Very glad my child is not of an age that she can get around on her own because I wouldn't be comfortable with my child crawling on the floor or touching the walls in this room.
No food allowed in the room so there is no fridge in the rooms so I didn't have anywhere to store my daughters Pedialyte after it was opened in the room for late night feedings the night before surgery. You are expected to keep any food in common areas where there are fridges anyone can access and lockers but they aren't locked and I'm not comfortable leaving food items in these common areas.
I try to be greatful about the free room but this experience just made the event happening to our family harder. Wish we would have just got a regular hotel room so we could have gotten a good night sleep at least the day before her surgery. I ended up staying at the hospital the reminder of her time impatient. Just wish there would have been more transparency about the quality of the lodging and the amount of rules.
You are not allowed to have any visitors that aren't overnight but they host an entire bake sale where they say the building will be very busy. You are only allowed to have one car in the lot but again they say the parking lot will be full for the bake sale. All the rules but they don't abide by them themselves so they clearly aren't very strict on them.

Such an AMAZING place! My family cannot thank you enough for your hospitality year after year. Its so comforting to be able to be so close for appointments and past surgeries my daughter has had at Nationwide. The whole place is so very thoughtful and fun, my daughter thinks we are on "vacation" every time we come ❤️

An amazing, beautiful, and inviting place. We have spent many nights at the Central Ohio Ronald McDonald House (in Columbus) while my son has had multiple lengthy hospital stays at next door Nationwide Children’s Hospital. The staff are extremely supportive and compassionate to make you feel as comfortable as possible while your child is undergoing surgery and/or treatment.
The recent remodel has made it even more fun for siblings to play in the zoo themed play areas.
I am absolutely grateful to them for granting my family a safe place to stay during challenging times.

Our son had an appointment within the area and I appreciate this place for letting us stay for a night. The beds were soooo comfortable!! They had every thing we need. They also do Breakfast lunch and dinner. Snacks is also available for the guest.
Our favorite part of this place was the music room and the book room!
