Delaware Hospice

Delaware Hospice was referred to us by Nancy, a respiratory nurse at Beebe Healthcare, whose father had previously been admitted there. Based on her recommendation, we felt confident choosing this hospice for our mother’s care. Our family is deeply grateful to the staff at Delaware Hospice for the compassionate care they gave my mother, JoAnn Medeiros during her final days in December 2025. From the moment we arrived, the nurses, Kim & Lynn and nurse practitioner sorry I forgot her name, (the one who is from Maine or use to live in Maine), treated her with dignity, kindness, and respect, while also supporting our entire family during a very difficult time. Some of her children were flying in from Hawaii to be with her and they took the time to explain things, answer our questions, and make sure my mother was comfortable and at peace. Although my mom was only their 2 days before passing away, their compassion and professionalism brought us great comfort, and we will always be thankful for the care they provided. The location is peacefully secluded at the end of the road, surrounded by beautiful trees and a natural setting. Delaware Hospice offers a private shower for guests, which was very helpful. Delaware Hospice truly made a difference for our family, and we would highly recommend them to anyone needing hospice care for a loved one.

My Dad was diagnosed with end stage cancer and pneumonia in January, as he declined, we made the decision to call in Delaware Hospice. We ended up having them take Dad to their Milford location. We are so glad we made that decision! Even Dad said "you picked the right place". You all made Dad so comfortable, even in death, I've never seen anyone in my life pass away so peaceful. The rooms are kept immaculate, as is the rest of the building, and you can sleep there with your loved one, as we did. That is so precious, in a time like that, to be able to stay with your loved one and be there when they're called home. We will always be grateful to you all at Delaware Hospice, including Leslie, our case worker. When Dad passed away, they hung a red, white and blue wreath on the door and all the nurses stood and played taps. I don't think I've ever seen a healthcare facility that takes so much care and pride in what they do. My family and I just recently went through a very sad but uplifting experience at the Delaware hospice center in Milford. Although this was one of the worst life-changing times for us, especially for my sister, and our niece, we experienced something beyond our expectations when our brother-in-law had succumbed to his ailment. The warm professionalism, care, cleanliness, and home like atmosphere, that he and our family experienced during our time there, was so commendable we needed to put this out to the public. Our many thanks to the nursing staff, and the overall staff that runs this hospice. Our gravely ill loved one transitioned peacefully, and with extreme dignity, due to all their hard work. I am leaving this review on a more professional level to help people feel comfortable and confident in making a choice in care. I have worked w several agencies (hospice and home healthcare) and this is one of the best top tier! THEY CARE! It’s completely obvious in the work and the care they give however short or long term it may be. Delaware hospice goes above and beyond the level of care and compassion they show each and every patient and loved one under their care.They do an amazing job of getting to the patients as soon possible when called, Joe ,one of the RN, that work for them there isn’t enough nice things I can say about him and the professionalism he displays under his care w the company. Along with the rest of the staff as well including office and answering service staff. So although Im only just a private caregiver that has worked w. them w mutual patients, I wouldn’t hesitate to contact them for any personal family or friends needs if that should ever be necessary. 🌼🙏🏼

A dear friend went into Delaware Hospice in Milford on April 16. The Staff was attentive, bathe him and closely monitored him. He died April 17. They called at 6 pm to say there was a change in him. Not ever experiencing this didn't know what to expect. He died at 9:30. We were told we could come there. Another friend was with him, so we knew he was peaceful. The funeral director was there already but he gave us time to be there. I must say the Hospice house was exceptional. It is back in the woods and very peaceful surroundings. I would highly recommend this place.
