Jessica's House

I first volunteered at Jessicas House because of their mission. What I began to realize is the real and significant role grief plays in many peoples lives. What Jessicas House does beyond providing a place for those grieving, is a home to many who grew up here and learned to face these challenges not alone, but with others. I recommend Jessicas House to anyone who may be grieving and looking for support.

Having a welcoming place where grieving families can together receive comfort and grief counsel in their time of need is such a gift. The families are welcomed each week with a meal before they each go to their age appropriate group. They are even placed with others who have lost the same as they have i.e. parents who’ve lost a child, or children who’ve lost a sibling, etc. so that the grieving families often make deep connections to others who know their loss. Jessica’s House is a very present help in time of need.

I highly recommend Jessica’s House for grieving families seeking compassionate support for their children. Jessica’s House provides an exceptional and much-needed service where children feel safe, heard, and emotionally supported as they navigate grief. Kids consistently share that being around other children who understand their feelings helps them feel less isolated and more connected. The caring, compassionate staff and supportive environment create a space where children and families can begin to heal with dignity, understanding, and hope.

I have volunteered at many nonprofits. Being retired one wants to make one’s time count. I have been thoroughly impressed by the beautiful home that is Jessica’s House. The home is light and airy yet filled with order and peace. Everything is prepared and well thought out from the training of volunteers to working with families. Great communication is built into the structure. It is a true joy and honor for me to get to play some small part in helping with the ongoing healing .

Jessica’s house has been an amazing inspirational experience for parents and children enduring grief. They support each other with love and compassion they take their hearts to a different dimension. It is an honor attending this special place.
