Holly Tate Fine Catering

The value of Holly Tat's catering service was well worth the money. Initially we had planned to serve Nigerian dishes because I'm Nigerian. John and Holly were not only open to catering (haha, get it?) to our needs, but also did research on Nigerian food and were up for a challenge. We ultimately decided not to serve Nigerian food at our wedding but that was no problem. Holly Tate has a plethora of dishes, menu types, and serving styles to choose from. We were easily able to find dishes we liked, and they were FUN. John also consulted us on ingredients and ways we could modify the dishes to fit our budget. He helped us understand volumes that would make sense for our guests as well. The tasting before the wedding was an awesome experience (and so much food!), we were so excited for the wedding. Heather was incredible with preparations too. She was present at our appointment with our rental vendor (for table settings, tableware, plates, decor, glasses, etc. ) and our final walkthrough with our venue. She definitely helped us coordinate on details we were not familiar with and it was sooo helpful. Heather helped us coordinate our beverage selections as well and set up our cocktail of choice for the wedding (including sourcing the non-liquor ingredients herself). The week of the wedding, an ingredient for one of the desserts was not available from a vendor, and Holly Tate immediately found a solution, with another ingredient to replace it. On the wedding day, Heather and the staff from Holly Tate were amazing! Everything went smoothly, the staff were so helpful, professional, yet warm. 2 weeks later, our guests are still raving about the bartending staff who created a fun atmosphere, and had a great rapport with guests. I don't know what was being served but the bar area was definitely on of the focal points of the wedding where people congregated :D. Most importantly, everyone LOVED the food (Can't thank Chef Ben enough for his amazing meals, incredibly talented!!!): my friends tell me they were tailing the wait staff to get more appetizers during cocktail hour haha. From the apple fennel salad, to the flank steak, salmon, ahi tuna skewers, lamb chops, gnocci, potato au gratin, all the desserts...people are still talking about the food. All I can say is Holly Tate was EXCEPTIONAL and I would highly recommend them for any event. Money well spent for great service and peace of mind.

Having Holly Tate Fine Catering as our wedding catering team was the best decision ever! From the very beginning, we were in contact with both John and Heather. They helped us with planning, customizing our menu, and determining what services we needed. We were able to participate in a tasting preview to help narrow down our choices prior to the wedding, and we were blown away! On wedding day, the butler-passed hors d’oeuvres and plated dinner were even better than we remembered! And not only was the food great, but the service was remarkable. The staff and bartenders worked so hard to make sure we were all taken care of. We simply cannot recommend Holly Tate Fine Catering enough!

We used Holly Tate Fine Catering for our wedding on 11/1, and they were truly exceptional from start to finish. Food was one of the most important elements for us when envisioning our wedding, and Holly Tate delivered tenfold. Our guests have not stopped raving about how delicious everything was - we’re still getting messages weeks later! We served a bourbon maple–glazed grilled salmon and rare prime rib, along with family-style sides of baked macaroni and cheese, green beans with Meyer lemon vinaigrette, sweet-potato mash, and a medley of roasted vegetables. Every single dish was incredible - perfectly cooked, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. Holly & John Tate, Chef Ben, Heather, Charlotte, and the entire team were outstanding. Chef Ben delivered an unforgettable meal; the waitstaff and bartenders were kind, attentive, and professional; and Heather / Charlotte, the main coordinator, continually went above and beyond. Heather took note of our preferences, anticipated our needs, and made the experience seamless. We were also incredibly appreciative of John Tate, who helped us determine alcohol quantities and selections even though we purchased our own alcohol separately. That level of support and generosity speaks volumes about the kind of company they are. Holly Tate Fine Catering played a huge role in making our wedding so special. Everything was delicious, thoughtfully executed, and delivered with genuine care. We are so grateful we chose Holly Tate to cater our wedding in Winston-Salem!

Working with John and Holly was an absolute pleasure through and through!! Throughout every aspect of the process, I felt as though Holly, John, and their staff went above and beyond. The Holly Tate Team was an absolute dream to work with. Not only are the people behind Holly Tate's Fine Catering amazing but the food is also absolutely out of this world amazing. It was hands down the best food at a wedding I have ever had. Their food also blew our guests away, the whole night we got so many compliments on how the food was absolutely incredible. One of my aunts who was in the wedding planning business in California for 30 years said it was hands down the best food at a wedding she has ever had. I would hire them again no questions!!! :)

My company has hired Holly Tate Catering for our large home furnishing events over the last 10 years. We love their staff and appreciate the manner in which they set up and clean up. My staff does nothing to serve 125 - 250 customers as Holly's team takes care of everything. It is a dream to work with them. They are creative in their menus and the cuisine is some of the best food I have ever eaten. We get compliments after every event. Many if our customers have also started using Holly Tate for their corporate needs. It is an amazing company with very quick responses and the flexibility to handle our out of the box requests.
