Amedisys Hospice Care

This was the hospice service my wife and I used for my father-in-law’s end of life care. We got a very shocking and sudden terminal diagnosis for him where we were told he had 2-3 weeks left to live. Understandably, we were overwhelmed and didn’t know what to do. This Amedysis team in Dalton went way above and beyond my expectations. Our nurse, Leah in particular, was very invested in my father-in-law’s care. It didn’t feel like someone just doing a job. Leah, and the whole Amedysis team, told us what to do, what his meds were for, when to give them, how to keep him comfortable and worked well with the 24 hour caregiver team we hired for when we couldn’t be at the house with my father-in-law. They pick up the phone day or night. And I called multiple times a day near the end, and at all hours when I was scared or didn’t know if what I was seeing was normal or concerning. Leah truly cared about my father-in-law, and cared about my wife and I too, frequently asking how we were holding up and how she could help. Leah and the rest of the team were a God send. I don’t know how we would have gotten through this terrible time in our lives without them.

The staff and nurses went above and beyond for my grandmother and our family! They were courteous, knowledgeable and efficient! They made the process as painless as possible considering the circumstances. I highly recommend them!
