When I entered the church today, Elder Marvin Kelley stopped me and said, “What’s up with the dog? Why are you bringing her to church?” At first I thought he might be joking. My dog is a 4-lb toy poodle who stays safely secured in a carrier. She is my emotional support animal, as I suffer from a mental impairment for which I have documented medical support.
I explained this to him, but he looked at me sternly and said, “Go on inside. We will talk afterwards.” As I grabbed a brochure and opened the door to go inside, I suddenly felt uncomfortable and decided to turn around and leave.
At that moment, instead of helping me feel welcomed or understood, he asked, “Are you offended?” and then said, “Have a nice day.”
This experience was very disappointing. I had always felt supported here, especially by Minister Kathryn, Minister Tammy, and the main pastor. Because of the kindness we previously experienced, my sister and I made the effort to travel from Hayward to attend services.
That is why this interaction was so discouraging. A church should be a place where people who are struggling feel welcomed and supported. Instead, I left feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome.
I wanted to share this experience because it mattered to me, and because I had previously believed this church was a place of compassion and understanding… I regret having to leave this review…. Though it’s important that pastor sees this.

The people in the congregation are a great. Very friendly and welcoming. Music pretty ok and uplifting. Sermon wasn't as impactful as I had expected. The 4 stars is for the congregation or "Saints" which is what the pastor calls them.

My fiancee was verbally assaulted by one of your employees while picking up Christmas gifts today. She arrived home in tears and shaking from the incident.
I have to give a Zero Star rating because of this. The Consumer Review Fairness Act or CRFA enacted in 2016 protects citizens from retaliation for posting honest reviews. I hope the next time at The Well we'll have a better experience.

Worship is key here and the music is a great soulful sound mixed with some contemporary style. It goes longer than I’m used to in other churches where they single a couple songs then get to the sermon, with the goal of ushering God’s presence. Pastor’s preaching is on point. Entertainment is not the focus with all the frills but I have a great time. It’s encouraging and convicting with balanced teaching that avoids either legalism or coddling. I felt very welcomed and built genuine friendships that I truly miss since I have moved, though we stay in touch. The Well makes sure people are served, from food pantry, staff on call to answer any questions, marriage counseling, deliverance ministry, youth & young adults, singles groups, and other activities for folks to get plugged in. The Holy Spirit is active here! Best church that I’ve been to and I feel church spoiled as I hope to find a church that resembles it. Nonetheless it’s equipped me a lot to grow my own relationship with Christ to take anywhere I go.

Such a blessing to our community. It will be a great pleasure to help The Well Church. Will be visiting soon to get volunteer position and give back with donation monies I earn without food and a roof it was very rehabilitating to have to learn to have much faith and much more humility for God. Thank you respectfully.
