Hello, I’ve been at sunrise at Sterling Canyon Senior citizen Home for recovery and the people here have been outstanding. Everybody’s willing to help whatever you need. I’m gonna be leaving in about two weeks, but if I had to spend the rest of my life here I would have no problem doing that so for me all these people can walk on water. I love them like family.

My dad’s experience started well. But as he declined in health, so did Sunrise’s level of care and concern. The caretakers do the best they can but administration left a very bad taste in our mouth. The Executive Director was more concerned about getting “five star ratings“ than actually taking care of my dad. So much so that he asked for reviews after almost every interactions!! Costs not only went up every year, they skyrocketed over 10%!!! Every year!! The expression “you get what you pay for“ is NOT going to be your experience at Sunrise. Trust me. My dad was left in bed for eight months because he supposedly didn’t want to get out of bed. Interesting that he gets out of bed every day at his new residence. He was given quasi bed baths for eight months. Interesting that he actually gets a shower at least twice a week at his new residence. He was left, looking like a homeless person with dirt under his nails, oily greasy hair and other hygiene conditions that are too graphic to put in writing. The straw that broke the camel’s back was bruising on his arms. My dad may not have been the most accommodating patient but his level of care was so substandard, it was heartbreaking. And to be paying almost $12,000 a month for that level of care is ridiculous. Making decisions for our family members is never easy. I simply caution you to be aware of a corporate mindset that is more interested in revenue than care.

Sean and his maintenance team were incredibly helpful and accommodating when we had to move furniture on very short notice to receive at hospital bed for my mom at Sunrise. I really appreciated the help and flexibility.

It is always a difficult transition to have to move a family member to an assisted living home but Sunrise has made it a wonderful experience. The room is warm and welcoming while the staff has been and continues to be extremely supportive and caring. The care takers are extremely dedicated to their residents and try to make their stay has pleasurable as possible. Anita at the front desk is always in a great mood, cheerful and such a joy--making our visits there always pleasurable. Mayra, one of the care givers, has become a dear friend to my father, something anyone would hope for the loved ones. We spend a lot of time there so its nice to feel like they are an extended family. Activities are created and seem to have a large women's following. We've suggested some be created for men's interests. The work hard on being creative with the meals and are always open to working with your special wishes. -- Sunrise has been around for awhile and you can see its wear and tear which we hope will be changed sometime in the near future/ it needs a bit of a refresher. But for those seeking comfort, kindness and security--you won't be disappointed.

Tristan, Sean, and Bill are so wonderful. They truly care about everyone in this community and we are very happy they help serve the seniors here. Beautiful community with a wonderful staff.
