Beautiful and peaceful mission to visit when in Socorro, TX and to learn a bit of history. It's free, no tickets needed, although you can donate money if you'll like to and also there is a gift shop inside.

Overnight stay in El Paso and looking for some historical POI’s. Found Mission Trail and visited all three. Socorro Mission IMO is the highlight. Unique ceiling and beautiful statuary. Gift shop staff was amazing wealth of knowledge and history.

Amazing church, El Padre es a toda madre besides some people who said he is kind of rude but it is not true, he is a great lider.

We really liked visiting the Socorro Mission. Services were being conducted so I did not take photos inside. We photographed the outside and grounds and very much enjoyed seeing them. There is also a nice cemetery in the rear as well as historic and informational plaque around the grounds.

Socorro Mission,La Purisima Catholic Church ⛪️ is one of the historical Missions in the El Paso area that is a popular tourist destination. A must see, But to us locals it’s a little gem that starts the Lent season with their annual green chili cheese enchiladas fundraiser. It’s a good deal and all proceeds go to help the Mission’s up keep.
