What stood out most was his willingness to come to the family home to make arrangements — something that meant so much during a very emotional time. They also took the time to personally pick up our loved one’s clothing, handling every detail with dignity and respect. Every interaction felt personal, never rushed. They listened to our wishes, offered thoughtful guidance, and created a service that truly reflected our loved one’s spirit and life. Thank you so much to Carlos and the Callands Funeral Home staff for such an outstanding service for my family and I during my grandfathers passing! They did such a wonderful job with his body that we had absolutely NO complaints which brought tears of joy to my heart. My grandfather was sick from dementia and lost weight but Callands Funeral Home made him look phenomenal and younger! The video of the service was touching and something we will always look back on. Also, we want to acknowledge his musician Rashawn who plays the organ/keyboard phenomenally! Carlos is a black owned business man who remained professional (even when picking up the body), kind, understanding, and most importantly honored our and my grandfathers wishes. Wow! This funeral home has their act together. They remained professional the entire time and organized. Our family had no complaints. Every time we met you were punctual and on time. When you picked up my father at the AuthoraCare in Burlington you had on business attire. Even your funeral home had a pleasant smell and was clean with a nice sitting area for the family. When my sisters and I first walked through the door Ms Dubose was friendly compassionate and willing to help make my dads homegoing as beautiful as it was! The funeral home was beautifully decorated! My dad looked so peaceful and as handsome like he was! Speaking with Mr. Callands when I took my dads clothes he was so pleasant and made a heartbreaking time a little lighter and seamless! Our driver was so very pleasant and had great conversation! We enjoyed him! Thank you all for making my dads homegoing memorable!
