11/25 After relocating my Mother to VA, we made the decision to explore a Senior Living Community so she could have a social circle of peers, stay active and live with independence and freedom while also ensuring she gets the care she deserves. We thought we found all of this at Chesapeake Place. The residents we spoke to said positive things about their experience. Our experience changed over time and I changed the rating from first impression as 5 stars to when my mom fell to 1 star. Once she moved in, everyone was nice but the lack of ownership and communication really started to show. 2/26 Update: it’s hard to find the right person to talk to. In one case, I talked to 4 different people about an additional safety bar in the shower that Occupational therapy asked me to order. It was immediately ordered and then sat in mom’s room for a month in the box because no one was the responsible person to make sure it got installed. It was never installed. 6/26 Update # 2 - my mom fell and was rushed to the hospital. I was not called for over 3 hours. My mom was in the ER by herself for hours when I only live 10 minutes away. When I asked for an explanation as to why they did not follow policy, I never received a response.

Linda is amazing! She was very patient, friendly and attentive. She gave us a tour, asked us about our needs, and explained all the costs. She was very diligent in keeping in touch throughout the paperwork process, and welcoming to my brother when he moved in. The facility is very clean, the food is excellent, and the accomodations are very pleasant. Everyone on staff is super friendly, there is always something going on somewhere keeping the residents busy. Highly recommend this facility for your senior loved ones.

We are moving my father-in-law to Chesapeake Place. After checking out a number of places, we chose this place. The staff and the facility are very nice. It should be a good fit for him. Special shout outs to Linda, the Sales Director, the executive director, and the activities director. They have made this difficult process so much easier. Linda is a gem. She is very personable and down to earth. She answers questions directly and if she doesn't have the answers, she finds them and gets back to you in reasonable amounts of time. She is a problem solver. Chesapeake Place is lucky to have her.

The Chesapeake Place is a wonderful community with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. It is clear that the team is truly dedicated to providing a supportive and engaging environment for their residents. Every visit feels positive, and you can see the pride the staff takes in their community. A special thank you to Ingrid, the Executive Director, for her leadership and commitment to excellence. Dawn at the front desk always provides such a friendly and welcoming presence the moment you walk in. The activities program, led by Lovely, brings great energy and engagement for the residents. Linda in Sales and Marketing does an incredible job supporting families and building relationships, and Shontae, the Memory Care Director, shows true compassion and dedication to residents in memory care. The entire team at The Chesapeake Place works together to create a caring and vibrant community for their residents. It is always a pleasure partnering with them!!
