Beginning with the two gentlemen who arrived to pick up and transport my Dad, Schraders treated us and our loved one with care and respect. In fact, everyone we encountered at Schraders was polite, professional and quick to help. We found our funeral arranger Emily Byers, to be kind, thorough and efficient. Emily listened, provided recommendations and didn't try to sell us on anything we didn't want. She was also quick to respond to our calls and to answer our questions. We liked Schraders chapel because it has natural light and is spacious. We also liked the proximity of the reception space so people didn't have to go far to attend. During the reception the staff was quietly available and responsive. I appreciated that they were observant making sure refreshments were replenished. Considering the circumstances, Emily and Schraders did a good job of making things much easier.

I went to a funeral at St Mary’s this week and the funeral home staff was there to greet us at the door, they were very helpful. During the service they played a minimal role, but everything they did was very professional and respectful, it was so good to see, I have seen other things from different funeral homes. Job well done.

They could not lock the casket and acted like it was no big deal because the vault is going on top as I heard them say. One of the representatives from the home wore a blue jacket that was wrinkled and looked like it was just pulled out of a duffle bag. This is the 5th family member that we have used this home for. I hope we never use them again. All the other funerals were much more professional than my grandma's funeral. Our family was very disappointed. They also polished her nails. She would not have liked that. Obituary comments get deleted if they don't approve. Every family has their issues and pain that come out in this type of event, and deleting them is baffling. Why is it their choice? No flowers, no pictures, so impersonal. Not all of it is on Schraders but enough was.

The care and compassion exhibited by the staff was unparalleled. We felt like they cared for our father as if he were their own family. There was a small army working behind the scenes to make sure every aspect was ready. The front office staff was so kind and gave personal attention to our service folders. The director contacted us and offered to be available even after hours if we needed anything. They offered military discount and I felt they truly honored and respected that our dad was a veteran. They made suggestions to personalize the service. Working with this funeral home was such a comfort at a difficult time. Thank you to the entire staff!

Zero stars if possible. Such a disappointing service for my dad who passed away. They did such an awful job with how he looked when we saw him for the viewing. His makeup looked horrible, nothing was neat and all his clothes were messed up. My mom had to fix his clothes and hair to make him look somewhat decent. The managers or people helping us were nice but offered us very little help during the actual service. We had to do everything and move the proceedings along ourselves. When we got to the cemetery to bury him it was the worst presentation, no fake grass, no tent, we paid extra for a weekend funeral. There were two creaky boards on either side of the hole that we pallbearers thought we were going to fall into. Very sad to see how my dad was treated and the little effort they put into the services. My mom called them and talked to them and they made multiple excuses of why it turned out so bad. Said that they just do so many that they sometimes forget the details. When they were putting the headstone foundation they put it in the wrong spot and we had to let them know and they had to move it. I wish I could recommend them but I cannot.
