A Muslim shall never leave another Muslim in the time of need. - Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)
And Muslims ahead of the board at this center is the complete opposite of this hadith, I spoken to a friend of mine that just moved to Birmingham and she told me some terrible things that goes on here as far as the racism towards "Black Americans" Muslims. It saddens me because I used to go pray at this place of worship. May Allah make it easy for that sisters family. I myself is struggling so I couldn't help her, however when any Muslim go to the ummah for any form of help the ummah should by any means help any and every Muslim! Ive been a victim of racism in a lot of masjids, now I see this one is NO DIFFERENT!

This, just as many masjids in America, is prejudice & racist. The way they view "African Americans" is terrible, and we have no chance getting the same treatment and rights as Asians and Arabs get in these masjids, especially this one. You would think the history that "blacks" have in Alabama itself that us Muslims would be on the Frontline of the mistreatment of my people. However instead they give us the same treatment, barely can get a salaam from an Asian or Arab Muslim, let alone respect. My family and I moved from entirely different state and had to uproot out of the Midwest bc of the death of my dad. May Allah be pleased with his soul. I'm having to take care of my mother and special needs sister, all 6 of my kids and another on the way. I'm working hard and they denied my Zakat application twice bc of how they view black ppl. My Umi has been interrogated by them seeing if she's truly Muslim. They've also denied my mother's Zakat application as well. After losing her husband and having a special needs daughter she's trying to get in school. They denied her. Little black Muslim kids that attend the school in Homewood gets called Monkey 🐒 and other racial insults as well. One student told my friend's child that black ppl are monkeys except the black ppl that are Muslims. If the kids are speaking like this imagine how the parents feel about black ppl. Children are the parents without hidden agendas. You can see the truth of the parents in the children. I've explained to the person in charge of the Zakat that unfortunately i have no family in Alabama and that the Ummah is my only family. Allah sees all and knows all. The way my family and others are being mistreated is terrible and shouldn't be happening within the Ummah. I ask Allah to please make it easy for my family and other families going through hardships as well. I have a 7 day eviction notice and Monday is the 7th day. I've doordashed as much as I can and don't get paid from my first job until next week. So I'm thinking I'm screwed, my family and I. May Allah be with us all. As salaam alaikum.

Masjid is amazing and associated with an Islamic elementary/high school. Kids are actively engaging in school activities. The community is big as well. There is a big parking lot. Two Friday prayer each week updated on their website calendar.
