Bruce at Cown Cremation Services was a total no nonsense professional. He did not try to pressure us in any way to spend more money than was necessary. We also picked Crown because his administrator Dawn walked my wife through the entire cremation process from beginning to end when we’re were interviewing multiple companies. The other companies we spoke to didn’t even attempt to do. I highly recommend Crown.

Bruce and Erin made dealing with the details of cremation and other post-death details relatively easy, and my experience was very positive. No pressure, just knowledgable and helpful people.

If I could rate leaving a negative star that is where I would start! My mother passed away in January 2023, her body was donated to science with the understanding that once they got what they needed she would be returned to Crown Memorial for cremation. Well long story short she was returned beginning to mid October and she is still laying there waiting to be cremated and returned to family. The funeral director isn't prompt in returning calls or emails, goes up towards a month before you will need to reach out for answers, constantly finding excuse after excuse as to why things are not being done in a timely manner and will put the blame on others instead of taking responsibility for her lack of awareness of the happenings of her facility. She is rarely there as she goes back and forth between Milwaukie and Southern Oregon. When she is in office she lacks communication and customer service skills. Of course the last communication was that she was going to email the people in charge of the process on 11/22 and it is now 12/21 and not a word. At no surprise when I reach out she has an out of office response stating she won't be back until the end of the month. Never mind the fact that there are families that are waiting for answers as well as the remains of their loved ones. So super glad that she is able to afford to take time away from work for the holidays while we wait for her to return to do her job! Have to say to those looking for these types of services: first I am so sorry for your loss, second please make sure that you read the reviews of facilities prior to hiring one, and lastly when it comes to Estell (funeral director) if you are hoping for empathy or for the minimum of decent customer service...you need to look elsewhere as you won't find either of those at Crown Memorial Milwaukie! That being said the Portland location was the most amazing experience that we had when dealing with end of life planning for my father in 2016. I highly recommend if you choose Crown to absolutely work with the Portland office (Broadway).

We had purchased our prepaid plans a number of years ago and convinced my wife’s aging mother (who was living with us at the time) to also purchase a prepaid policy. When she died recently, they were very professional and caring about the process and we received several calls to obtain the necessary information for the death certificate. They provided a link in an email to sign the necessary documents online and the process was very straightforward and easy. We would highly recommend this company and their support during this trying time.
