Uptown Catering

We moved to the area this spring and used Uptown Catering for the first time to cater my daughter’s birthday party. I can’t recommend them highly enough! We will definitely be repeat customers.

I just catered breakfast for a family event with 20 people and spend $442 (including tip/delivery). The food was mediocre and the portions were so small. I ordered "The Convention" breakfast which was "Scrambled Eggs, Bacon, Sausage, Breakfast Potatoes and Buttermilk Biscuits" - it came with literally 20 tiny sausage patties and biscuits total. So one tiny sausage and biscuit per person. I didn't count the bacon but it was a similarly stingy portion. No one had more than two pieces. The eggs were bland. The potatoes were actually good. But overall, it was so embarrassing to have the food show up and it be these tiny trays of hardly any food for over $400. I would have been better off ordering individual dishes for each person from a local restaurant. I thought with the high Yelp and Google reviews I saw, this would be a safe bet! I also ordered a 20 mini pastries for $3.25 each which were like pastries you get at a 7/11. At least if you are overcharging, let the food be good and not like you unwrapped pastries from a Costco haul. Worst of all was the coffee which was watered down and disgusting. Everyone threw theirs out so I just dumped it. What an utter waste of money. Also they only sent 8 cups with the coffee even though the breakfast was for 20. Stingy and bland all around. If you are catering for a small group, please save yourself the trouble and embarrassment and just order takeout from a local restaurant. I wish I took pictures of the spread but I was just too upset. All I took was the coffee which you can tell even from the picture was gross.

The food arrived on time and tasted good, but the portions were very disappointing. Each guest received roughly four pieces of food, plus a small charcuterie board. There were no leftovers, and the quantity was not sufficient for a 3.5-hour cocktail style event. I relied on the caterer’s guidance when building the menu and would have added additional items had it been clear that each appetizer included only one piece per person. Communication was also lacking. I had to follow up to confirm delivery timing and request the payment link. Overall, the food quality was good, but the portion planning and service experience fell short.

We recently worked with Uptown Catering for a two-day VIP event hosting around 1,000 guests, and they absolutely exceeded our expectations! The food was outstanding fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The staff was professional, kind, and incredibly attentive, making sure every detail was handled flawlessly. What truly stood out was how they brought my vision to life. The display and presentation were stunning exactly what I had imagined, if not better. Their team worked tirelessly to ensure everything ran smoothly and on schedule. I couldn’t have asked for a better catering partner for such an important event.
