For unusual and personal reasons, I have had two extended stays at Springwell and can attest to the kindness and respect that characterize the staff inthis community.. I know when circumstances require it, masks, gloves etc. are commonplace at the facility as is is acute attention to any such threat as may exist. I think I pay a very reawsonable price for a very loving home.

It’s ok, but if your loved one needs medical attention, forget it! Once my mom needed to go the hospital, and they wouldn’t do anything about it. We had to take her ourselves and it was a good thing we did. She ended staying there for 5 days!

Review written by current resident, Sr. Anne O. - I have lived at The Homestead for almost two years. The first year, I got settled in a one-bedroom apartment with a large walk-in closet and a bathroom large enough to hold a wheelchair. Happily, I do not need one yet. The second year, I developed health issues requiring the use of a rollator. I am glad I moved into a retirement community before I had a major health change. I appreciate the services and amenities regularly provided, such as: bus rides to doctor’s appointments, supermarkets, and big-box retail stores; exercise classes; bingo and bridge; movie matinees on Saturday and Sunday; documentaries on art, history, and nature; live music from cabaret to classical; worship for different denominations. I believe that the best part of The Homestead are the residents, about a hundred of them because they show genuine care for one another. One woman had a husband with memory problems. Two other women always joined the couple for dinner to keep a three-way conversation going. This arrangement lasted until the couple moved to assisted living at Springwell.

I am a private caregiver for a resident housed in this facility and the living conditions are deplorable. There is no way I would pay to put my loved one here. I don't understand what the families are actually paying for besides minimal babysitting. The rooms aren't cleaned often nor are the bathrooms there is always a ring in the toilet unless the staff gets a heads up that family is coming to visit their loved one.The staff cant sit with the residents in the eating hall they are only allowed to walk the client to the seat and leave. The food looks like slop even the residents complain and most of them have cognitive issues. I don't see much care being administered here AT ALL. I definitely plan to report them to the board of nursing. This place is a death trap to say the least and the employees have no care at all for the residents they put on a show when families come in. The staff is veryyyyy fake friendly when families come in any other time they are huddled up talking or on cellphones/AirPods paying the residents no attention. My client has been here 1 year and the lack of care received is insane. I would not put a dog in this place ..if you are a family looking for a facility please don't let the fake smiles fool you.If your loved one is already in this place... pleasseeeeeee Pop up on your loved one and don't give the administration a heads up you're coming to visit and I PROMISE you will see the neglect that I see daily! the manager Moses has a horrible attitude and doesn't care about the residents. He puts on a act to get families into the building and once they are there they are left for dead literally. I have witnessed my client with a tray of food that was left on the table full of ants and the client was eating out of the food. This facility is not for clients who need a lot of care as they do not assist with much for people who have serious cognitive issues. run from this facility seriously I don't understand how they are still open and operating with all of the neglect that takes place here.

Great place for your loved ones to live as they get older. My grandmother has loved here for 4 years and she and the family have been very happy here. There are alot of family functions here with buffet and always enjoy coming and the staff are always nice and helpful. My grandmother says the staff take great care of her and go above and beyond. They monitor the patients very well and make sure she's feeling well and eating etc...
