I had a terrible experience with Thriveworks. My provider Katelyn Schaffer caused
me serious problems, and would not
take any responsibility for her bad advice and her lack of follow through when I contacted her about the problem. I warn people not to use this service. When I tried to file a complaint I was told there weren’t any supervisors available and never received a return call. I will be contacting my insurance company who referred me
to them to begin with, so they know about the bad service they are referring to, the appropriate overseeing board of psychiatry, the Better Business Bureau, and any other applicable agencies.
Additionally, The Thriveworks provider also violated HIPPA by faxing information to my PCP without my written consent.

I did not have a good experience at all with my particular provider at all. I felt really dismissed and like she was just feeding me anything because she was unable to diagnose me instead of simply saying it was not her area of expertise she wasted 32 min of my time likely to be able to bill still. I felt written off like many poc folks are by her telling me it is rare for adults to be diagnosed with ADHD and proceeded to give me the stereotypical symptoms of what it looks like in children so I did not meet criteria despite my therapist of years telling me different. It took a lot to finally unmask and seek medication and this was not a good experience at all! I’m not here to name drop or ruin careers but if she reads this please do better. Now I’m not bashing the whole place I’ve heard great things about specific providers and I’m hoping to try a different person that did come highly recommended.

My mother has been attending therapy sessions with Marissa and she tells me that she feels much better after every session! Marissa has been very kind and understanding, which means a lot to my mom. I’m so glad that we came across Thriveworks and were able to receive such great help!!

I’ve never had an evaluation where a diagnosis couldn’t be confirmed the same day. The person I spoke with kept attributing it to the appointment being virtual, even though I have years of medical records documenting this diagnosis. He then scheduled me for a follow-up two weeks out, and when I asked why, he said he needed time to review our conversation. The delay, along with him repeatedly saying it could take 2–3 more appointments before diagnosing me, felt like a lot. I originally chose this option for convenience, but I’m now looking into a more traditional route.

Sydney has been great so far. I’m only on my second session with her and i feel very comfortable and understood. At times she just takes all the jumbled thoughts in my brains and turns them into actual words which I love. I’m so happy and excited that I decided to take this step and seeking therapy. Super grateful for all of Sydney’s help!
