Staff and their inability to see the humanity in those they are responsible for. Not all staff of course. Dangerous talking down to people, making them feel bad, not minding if they are upsetting seniors or the disabled. Seriously should lighten up and some staff should move on. There have been incredible people there.

This place is suppose to be a place where anyone over the age of 60 and have list there home. Elderly that have no where to go, no family to turn too. But yet a hand full of people pay up to $1,000 for rent. Make some leave just after being there a month. Turned them away with no explanation. Tell me what kind of samaritan would do this? They need to have someone give them an adjustment. Just my thoughts.

They do not understand victims of domestic abuse. Nor do they care that you work and not get disability or social security yet. That is the money they want. More than if you were on subsidies for housing that most lost. I had to put up with an abusive roommate who would not let me sleep. Phone calls at one am, going in and out of the room to pee slam the heavy doors, slam her snack stash drawer by my head open and rattle paper and eat in the no eat zone, slam door out and do this every 30 mins.. Today added turning light on and leaving it on. My doctor is aware of my sleep deprivation because of this. Made staff aware but I can't pay $450.00 a month. Others pay up to $700. With roommate. Food improper for seniors. They do not have any medical staff, chef or anyone professional there. They didn't find my housing, I did that myself. I was made homeless on the streets because of their abusive staff. I am a veteran and victim of domestic abuse. I have recent medical records of the sleep deprivation caused by my roommate and staff. Staff refused to look at.

You have to have the misfortune of staying here a while to fully realize how hateful the staff is. Just paying a visit to do volunteer work doesn't bring to light the kind of verbal and emotional abuse the residents are regularly subjected to. During my short (two month) time at Samaritan Place, I was demeaned, insulted, and even threatened by the lead case manager. Unfortunately for most of the residents, they do not have a voice in reporting their treatment by the staff, or the option of retreating from this toxic environment. Being homeless at age 60 was bad enough, but having to reside at Samaritan Place was worse.

Very caring staff that offer alot of help for those that need it. It's not a large facility and so they sometimes have a waiting list for availability. Facility is clean and nice. They have rooms for their residents a dining area a large common room with a TV, a game room, large screened in porch, and a back yard area with small garden area.
