Grand Living At Tower Place

This is a beautiful facility and wonderful people who work there. I am always greeted so warmly by the front desk person, it may seem like a small thing but it just makes my day. I have had to meet with the business manager Suzanne recently and she is a delight. Having a family member being cared for there has been such a blessing. I highly recommend this establishment if you have a family member looking for a place to spend their golden years. Fun activities and the food is great too!

This is unlike any retirement homes I've visited. Staff treat you with respect, and are happy to see you, even though you're just visiting. The facility is gorgeous! Residents have lots of opportunities for staying active and a variety of food options, pending on their needs. We saw all this on one visit. We'll definitely look into this community when we get to that point in our lives.

Older woman (50s?) manning the front desk is rude, nosy and condescending and treated me like a criminal when I was checking in to visit my grandparents, based on nothing except my physical appearance (alternative/not wealthy). There's nothing else it could have been, since our exchange consisted of me answering her obligatory "how are you" (delivered with a raised eyebrow look of disgust/confusion, like she found it suspicious that someone like me was printing off a visitor's badge to see a resident, and followed my neutral response with an unwarranted question about whether there was something wrong going on with me). Other family of mine who visits have also commented to me about the same woman's passive-aggressive rudeness. Let's do better than this, especially considering how much you charge residents to live here.

Whether it's independent, assisted or memory care this place is remarkable. When considering a place for our centenarian mother we reviewed multiple properties in the greater Des Moines area and the comparison was always Grand Living ... from the investigative phase, move in, etc the team was comforting, caring and knowledgable. The other residents welcomed our mother with open arms and let her know they were there for her as friends. The staff was over the top in making sure our mother and our family were pleased with every aspect. Cheers to Katie, Debbie, Angela and "Denis the Menace" for making our mother feel like she had a second family.

An absolutely stunning building for its residents. This facility offers exceptional rehab care and on-site therapists for Physical, Occupational, and Speech therapies. The building staff are very friendly and offer many extra amenities. This includes, underground parking garage, concierge service and chauffeur service included in your stay. They have an outdoor dog park and are pet friendly!
